GIC Re, the 'Indian Reinsurer' and 14th largest Reinsurance Company in the world fully owned by Government of India with the network in India and abroad is looking for Young, Energetic Graduates / Post Graduates with Brilliant Academic record in the disciplines mentioned below to fill-in the positions of 50 Specialist Officers in the cadre of Assistant Managers (Scale-I) to be based in its offices in India and abroad and will be liable to be posted anywhere in India as well as abroad as per the requirement of the Corporation.

PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN :
HIGH SPEED HEAT TRANSFER ESTIMATION IN WING PROFILE :

The aim of this project is to estimate the heat flux in any given wing geometry profile by using the FORTRAN language in CFD. This program is aimed to calculate the heat flux of the flight type that can fly in any particular altitude and Mach number; and also the transient aerodynamic heating and the surface temperatures at supersonic speeds. Firstly, the wing-geometry is specified as a series of sections consisting of a rounded leading edge, followed by conical and flat portions. At specified points on this wing-profile, the heat transfer rate is estimated, using engineering approximations. During the ascent flight, the altitude and Mach number change continuously and the basic free stream properties like pressure, temperature, density as well as enthalpy also changes which lead to a time varying heat flux. These above properties are calculated by means of interpolation technique. These comparisons show that the values predicted using in the program are in good agreement with measured surface temperatures and measure heat transfer coefficients.
