RECRUITMENT OF SPORTS QUOTA POSTS (NRSA)

Applications are invited from eligible Indian sportspersons to fill up 12 vacancies against Open Advertisement quota in Sports in Pay Band Rs. 5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs. 2800/2400 (03 posts) & Rs. 2000/1900 (09 posts) over various Divisions/Workshops/Units in Northern Railway in the following disciplines :-

Minimum Educational Qualification :
Educational Qualification : Graduate for PB-1 Rs. 5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs. 2800/2400 (3 posts).
Educational qualification : Matriculate/ITI/Equivalent for PB -1 Rs. 5200-20200 Grade pay Rs. 2000/1900

Minimum Sports Norms for recruitment :
Represented the Country in Olympic Games (Category ‘A’) OR
Represented in (category -‘B’ Championships/events) in the World Cup (Junior/Senior)/ World Championships (Junior/Senior)/ Asian Games (Senior)/ Commonwealth Games (Senior) and obtained at least 3rd position for country.
Represented the Country in the World Cup (Junior/Senior)/ World Championships (Junior/Senior)/ Asian Games (Senior)/ Commonwealth Games (Senior Category) (i.e. Category-B) OR
Represented the Country in the Commonwealth Championship (Junior/ Senior)/Asian Champion-ships/Asia Cup (Junior/ Senior Category )/ South Asian Federation (SAF) Games (Senior Category)/USIC (World Railways) Championships (Senior Category) and obtained at least 3rd position. OR
Represented a State or equivalent in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships and obtained at least 3rd position. OR
Represented State in National Games organized under aegis of Indian Olympic Association and obtained at least 3rd position. OR
Represented a University in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities and obtained at least 3rd position OR
Represented a State or equivalent Unit in Federation Cup Championships (Senior category) and obtained 1st position.

Age Limit : The sports person should be between 18 to 25 years of age as on 01/01/2012.

How to apply : The candidate fulfilling the conditions regarding eligibility of age, educational qualifications and other eligibility criteria as explained above should apply for the post notified as per application formats given in the advertisement on a good quality plain paper of A-4 size along with 2 latest passport size photographs (one duly pasted on the application form) duly attested by a Gazetted Officer. The application should be filled in by the candidates in their own handwriting and sent through ordinary post only to the following address:-

Postal Orders : Rs. 60/- for posts in PB-1 Rs. 5200-20200+2800/2400 (GP) and Rs. 40/- for Rs. 5200-20200+1900/2000 (GP). Postal Order should be drawn in favour of Northern Railway Sports Association, New Delhi which is non refundable. SC/ST, Women, Miniorities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zorastrians (Parsis) and economically backward classes candidates are exempted from examination fee.

Last date for receipt of application is 28.10.11 (up to 17:00 hrs) and no application will be entertained after the last date.

NOTE :
(i) Copies of certificates regarding sports performance, educational qualification, date of birth castes certificate must be duly attested by a Gazetted Officer alongwith the character certificate of the institution last attended. Applications, which do not accompany the attested copies of certificates as mentioned, will be rejected.
(ii) Applications not as per format will be rejected.
(iii) Unsigned/ incomplete application will be rejected.
(iv) Individuals should apply for one game/ discipline only. In case of application is received in more than one game/discipline the applications are liable to be rejected.
(v) Candidates, who do not fulfill all the eligibility criteria need not to apply otherwise their application, will be summarily rejected.
(vi) Candidates who fail to appear for the trials, interview and other selection procedures on the date and place will be cancelled without further notice.
