Closing Date and Time for residents of Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul & Spiti Districts and Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands and candidates residing abroad: 15.11.2011 at 17.00 Hrs.

Applications are invited from eligible sports persons for following sports event/category for Group ‘C’ and erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts on North Western Railway :

I. Norms for Group 'C' recruitment in PB 1 ` 5200-20200 Grade pay ` 2400/2800 - (3 posts)
Educational Qualification : Graduate
Sports Achievements :
a. Represented the Country in Olympic Games OR
b. Obtained at least 3rd position by representing the Country in the World Cup (Junior/ Senior)/World Championships (Junior/Senior)/Asian Games (Senior) / Commonwealth Games (Senior), except Gold Medal in Asian Games.

II. Norms for Group 'C' recruitment in PB 1 ` 5200-20200 Grade Pay ` 1900/2000 - (9 posts)
Educational Qualification : Minimum SSC / Matriculate Sports Achievements:
a. Represented the Country in the World Cup (Junior/ Senior), World Championships (Junior/Senior), Asian Games (Senior) & Commonwealth Games (Senior) OR
b. Represented the country in the Commonwealth Championship (Junior/Senior)/ Asian Championship/Asia Cup (Junior/Senior)/South Asian Federation (SAF) Games (Senior)/USIC (World Railways) Championship (Senior) and obtained at least 3rd position. OR
c. Represented a State or equivalent unit in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships and obtained at least 3" Position OR

III. Norms for Erstwhile Group ‘D’ recruitment in PB-1 ` 5200-20200 Grade Pay ` 1800 - (4 posts)
Educational Qualification : Minimum SSC / Matriculate
Sports Achievements :
a. Represented the country in the Commonwealth Championship (Junior/Senior)/ Asian Championship /Asia Cup(Junior/Senior)/South Asian Federation (SAF) Games (Senior)/ USIC (World Railways) Championship (Senior) OR
b. Represented a State or equivalent Unit in Federation Cup Championships (Senior category) and obtained at least 3rd position OR
c. Represented a State or equivalent unit in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships OR
d. Represented all Units or District of the State in the Senior State Championship and obtained at least 3rd position.

Age Limit : Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01.01.2012.

Period of reckoning sports achievements : Only those Sports persons who have participated in the Championships on or after 01/04/2009 and are active will be eligible to apply for the appointment against Sports Quota.

Examination Fee : Demand Draft/Indian Postal Order of ` 60/- for Group ‘C’ post, PB-1 ` 5200-20200+ ` 2400/- or 2800/- (GP) and ` 40/- for PB-1 ` 5200-20200+ ` 1800/- or 1900/- or 2000/- (GP). DD/IPO should be drawn in favour of Assistant Personnel Officer (Recruitment & Training), North Western Railway, Jaipur. Demand draft should be of any nationalised/scheduled bank, payable at Jaipur. IPO should be payable at G.P.O.Jaipur. These DD/IPO are non-refundable in any case.

Last date of receipt of application is 31/10/2011 up to 17 Hrs. After this, no application will be accepted. Railway will not be responsible for any postal delay/loss. Applications as per format given should be addressed to

No receipt will be given at any counter. Applications sent by Registered Post/Courier/By Registered AD will not be accepted. Any deficiency/discrepancy found in the application and papers submitted by the applicant will render the application invalid. On the top of the envelope “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA FOR THE YEAR 2011-12” should be superscribed.
