RECRUITMENT OF DEAN, PROFESSORS, ASSOCIATE PROFESSORS AND ASSISTANT PROFESSORS FOR ESI PGIMSRs, ESIC MEDICAL COLLEGES AND ESIC DENTAL COLLEGE

Employees’ State Insurance Corporation is a statutory body constituted under an Act of Parliament (ESI Act, 1948) and works under the administrative control of Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. Employees’ State Insurance Corporation proposes to recruit Dean, Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors for ESI PGIMSRs, ESIC Medical Colleges and ESIC Dental College on direct recruitment basis as under :

A. Recruitment of Dean in ESIC Medical Colleges located at (i) Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), (ii) Sanath Nagar (Andhra Pradesh), (iii) Mandi (Himachal Pradesh), (iv) Faridabad (Haryana), (v) Patna (Bihar) & (vi) Gulbarga (Karnataka). The detail of vacancies is as under :

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :
(i) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of educational qualification included in Part-II of the Third Schedule should also fulfil the conditions stipulated in Section 13 (3) of the Act).
(ii) A postgraduate qualification e.g. MD/MS or a recognised qualification equivalent thereto in the respective subject/ allied discipline.

Projects Conducted during the course of study :
1.”Effect of Vetivera zizanioides on experimentally induced wound healing in albino rats of Wistar strain.”
The project was conducted for a duration of 6 months, which involved the collection of the plant, preparation of the methanolic extract followed by the ointment(2.5% and 5%) and the actual course of the study. Two models were involved : ‘The incision model’ and ‘The excision model’ with 6 groups in each model.
However, the study did not show any significant difference in the test group as compared to the control group.
The project was completed by three members with each member in charge of two groups (From extract preparation to conclusion of the study).
2.”Effect of Castor oil on experimentally induced wound healing in albino rats of Wistar strain”.
This project was carried in the same procedure as above, with only two groups : Control Group and Test Group where the test group (Castor Oil) healed faster and hence showed better results than the control group.
The project also was completed by three members.
3. “Can Lomefloxacin and Moxifloxacin induce anxiety in albino rats of Wistar strain- ”
This project involved 6 groups with one control group and another , ‘Levofloxacin’ group, which is already known to cause anxiety. The study was conducted for a period of 4months and included two models- ‘elevated plus maze’ and ‘open field’. At the end of the study , the test drugs were shown to cause more anxiety than the ‘Control’ group but lesser than ‘Levofloxacin’ group.
The project was completed by three members with each member in charge of two groups (From drug administration to conclusion of the study).
Trainings/Postings :
- 1 month training in Bioavailability and Bioequivalence studies (BABE) in Manipal Acunova , Manipal University, Manipal.
Closely observed a pilot bioequivalence study of Telmisartan 80mg Tablets in 12 healthy human subjects (from screening to recruitment of the subjects to conduct of the study).
- 1 month training in Clinical Trials conducted in Manipal Acunova , Manipal University, Manipal.
- 1 month training in Animal Handling Techniques in Central Animal House, Manipal University, Manipal.
Was trained on handling of animals, all routes of drug administration & collection of blood from various sites in rats, mice and rabbits.
- Worked for a fully functional Pharmacovigilance Cell at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal.
Was posted in the Department of General Medicine and collected around 200 ADRs which was included in the National data from the college.
