Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board, New Delhi notifies Agriculture Research Service/National Eligibility Test Examination, 2011.
AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH SERVICE / NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST EXAMINATION-2011.
Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) ( asrb.org.in ) will hold a competitive ARS/NET Examination – 2011 as per the following scheme where two separate examinations will be held as ( I) Prelim – ARS / NET Examination – 2011 and (II) ARS – Main Examination – 2011. Both the aforesaid examinations will be conducted on 12.02.2012.
1. The Prelim – ARS examination is a qualifying examination. However, all those candidates desirous of appearing for ARS will have to take both the Prelim Examination as well as the ARS Main Examination. The Main Examination will be held on the same day in the afternoon. Since a pass in the Prelim Examination is compulsory for all ARS candidates, only those candidates who pass the Prelim Examination will have opportunity to get their Main Examination papers evaluated. Only those candidates who appeared in the Prelim ARS Examination will be allowed to appear in the ARS Main Examination. The candidates clearing Main Examination will be called for Viva-Voce in the ratio of 1:5 subject to obtaining a minimum 50% marks by General / OBC candidates and 45% marks by SC/ST/PC candidates in ARS Main Examination (Subjective type). The selection of candidates for Viva-Voce will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the ARS – Main examination. Candidates declared successful in ARS – Main Examination and viva-voce will be recommended for appointment as Scientists in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research in the pay scale of Rs.15,600 – 39,100 plus Research Grade Pay (RGP) of Rs.6,000/-.
2. NET is a qualifying examination for determining eligibility for Lecturer / Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs). Candidates clearing the National Eligibility Test will be eligible for Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the SAUs/AUs. NET Certificates will be issued to the candidates by the A.S.R.B. after the screening of the eligibility of the provisionally qualified candidates to enable them to apply against vacancies to be notified or advertised by the State Agricultural Universities. SAUs/AUs will consider their eligibility through interview or any such other tests as devised for recruitment of Lecturers or Assistant Professors.

The candidates seeking admission to ARS/NET Examination must pay to the Board a fee of Rs. 1,000/- (Rs. One thousand only) through a Crossed Bank Draft only, valid for six months from the date of issue, drawn in favour of Secretary, A.S.R.B. and payable at New Delhi with the application form. Candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of the Bank Draft in the top corner at the time of submission of application. No other form of payment will be accepted by the Board.

A candidate seeking admission to the Examination must apply to the Secretary, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 on the application form available on ICAR Website www.icar.org.in or ASRB Website www.asrb.org.in The application form should be filled up by the candidate in his / her own handwriting only. The candidate must write his / her name as it appears in the Matriculation certificate. If the candidate has changed his / her name after Matriculation, necessary document / proof should be attached. A candidate must read the provisions in the Notification for ARS / NET Examination – 2011 carefully and abide by the same. A candidate must fulfill all the conditions of eligibility regarding age limits, educational qualifications etc. prescribed for admission to the examination.
