Aim of the project :
Remote monitoring and control of the drip irrigation system.
Complete wireless control and monitoring of drip irrigation system.
Parameters like temperature, humidity, soil moisture are monitored in order to turn on/off the drip irrigation process.

WORKING :
The basic idea of this project is to monitor the parameters environmental temperature, soil moisture and humidity in air. According to this the irrigation is to be started or stopped. We are designing the receiver section which will be installed at the field or farm. Ranges of temperature and humidity are decided on board according to the crop, these values are stored in processor unit. Respective sensors are used to sense the surrounding temperature and humidity at receiver section. If temperature or humidity go above or below these limits then a message is sent to the user or farmer. Accordingly farmer can start the irrigation process by sending message to the receiver section. At receiver section (field) there is a GSM modem which will send and receive the particular messages. Along with GSM modem there is processing circuitry at receiver section which is used in processing and storing of data.
Basically in this project we are controlling the power supply to pump which is used for water dripping and also monitoring the temperature, humidity and soil moisture. The facility for setting the temperature and humidity ranges according to the crop is also provided on board.

Technical Skills :

Main-Project Title : Optimal Power flow with TCSC using GENETIC ALGORITHM

Description : This thesis presents solution of Optimal Power Flow (OPF) with different objective functions i.e. fuel cost minimization and active power loss minimization using heuristic technique namely Genetic Algorithm (GA) .The basic OPF solution is obtained with fuel cost minimization as the objective function and the optimal settings of the power system are determined. For reactive power optimization, active power loss has been taken as the objective function. OPF solution with Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator (TCSC) device is carried out considering fuel cost minimization and active power loss minimization as objective. TCSC is used to minimize the total fuel cost and active power losses. All the above cases are studied using Genetic Algorithm. Results obtained using IEEE 30 bus system and 75-bus Indian systems are presented.

- Achieved I prize in a “technical quiz” competition held on the occasion of “Engineers Day” celebrations Sep’09 in our college.
- Got 1st prize in Kushi 2K11 on paper “6th SENSE TECHNOLOGY” conducted by Akula Sri Ramulu College of engineering.
