We seek an Sr Accountant candidate who is self motivated, taking care of accounts, handling VAT,Sales tax, Service tax, TDS, tax returns, liasioning with govt. authorities like sales tax, VAT. He should be able to finalized the accounts independently.

Graduates having 06-08 years experience of working in accounts, able to deal any volumes of daily data work. Experience in Company taxation matters. Went to UK for System Analysis of Life Finance Systems FDW system and did a successful migration and knowledge transition to carry out the work offshore.
Also, successfully migrated AMI datawarehouse for Non-life Insurance.
Key responsibilities :
- Analysis of root cause of business problems for the system.
- Preparation of test cases as per the Requirement documents and BSDs.
- Prepare documentation and process guides for the systems.
- Prepare training plan and train new joiners.
- Coordinate with the team and Test Manager / Project Manager in UK for various projects.
- Liaise with the stakeholders and UK team regarding testing progress for various testing projects.
Projects :
1.AMI :
AMI is a robust, flexible data warehouse for delivering high level management information and reports to large user community.
Responsibilities :
- Investigate the suspense mapping issues on the AMI datawarehouse and take appropriate action by setting up the correct mappings
- Analysis of the issues to understand the problem and help the developer to fix the problem and verification of the solution
- Prepare UAT test scripts/scenarios for the various projects and execute them
- Raise and assign defects
- Liaise with the Test Manager, Business Stakeholders and the Technical Support team.
Major Projects :
Projects like Travel Remediation, LTS Earning Investigation and Medical screening issue for the LTSB products on the Travel business.
Similarly, the commercial business had major projects like the Commercial coverages and Driver issues.
On the Personal line business, projects for various fixes done on the Solus system.
Apart from this, regular requests to set up the referencing data on the mapping tables for new products.
2.Lamda Maintenance Release (6 to 31) :
Lamda is a Policy Administration System (PAS).The data from Lamda goes into FDW which stands for Financial Data Warehouse. It is a posting engine used for posting data from PAS into the General Ledger (SAP). FDW uses a DB2 database for storing data.
Each release had different problem records (PR) with issues encountered on the PAS. A root cause analysis was prepared for each PR to resolve the issues.
Responsibilities :
- Prepared Test Scripts for FDW and analyze for any changes required on the system
- UAT and Regression Testing.
- Coordinate with the Lamda CoE team.
3.Asset Allocation :
The aim of this project was to allocate cash flow movements to the correct portfolio on a daily basis. It was intended to do this by capturing information about cash flows at source on a daily basis and allocating them to the correct portfolio. The mechanism used was to identify the point where the liability on a product changes so that underlying assets must be moved to reflect the new status of the liability.
The cash flow reporting mechanism consists of three steps
- extract data from relevant source into summary value records
- collect data from multiple sources prior to producing the daily summary cash flow report
- produce the daily summary cash flow report
The source data comes from FDW (Tandem, Amarta, Alis), Apollo, and Climate (including DCF) which gets collected in a FDW collection table.
Responsibilities :
- Prepared test scripts for FDW and Reporting for the IST and UAT
- Set up the test scripts on HP quality center and executed them
- Raise and assign defects and send daily reporting.
- Liaise with the Business Analysts and the Technical Support team.
4.AXALink Automation:
The project was initiated for Customer Service Process Improvement through streamlining processes and automating or removing manual tasks where possible.
Three initiatives were viewed as being worthwhile pursuing, namely
1.AXA Link – Automate AXA link updates
Changes to remove manual intervention upon receipt of an AXA link update and to automate the feed of data into Lamda so that only exceptions are checked.
2.AXA link – Automate New business
Changes to include fund choice with AXA Link and to automate New entrant application processes.
3.Automation of Leaver confirmation letter on receipt of the leaver details and update of Lamda via AXA link
Two systems, FDW and Lamda Control Reports, were impacted from Finance perspective.
Responsibilities:
- Prepared Finance Test Plan for the interfaces impacting Finance.
- Coordinated the testing with the Projects and the IT Support team.
- Prepared Test Scripts for FDW and performed Test Execution.
5.New World Service Recovery(NWSR):
The New World Service Recovery programme had been established to manage a programme of root cause analysis, resolve problems & implement improvements to performance, process & support.
The functional areas within the scope of the project were New Business, Premium Amendments, Premium Collection and Commissions.
The following systems, namely Lamda Control Reports, FDW, Omega, Tandem MIS, Omega and Essbase had an impact from the finance perspective.
Responsibilities:
- Analysis of Requirements documents and specifications.
- Prepared Finance Test Plan for the interfaces impacting Finance.
- Coordinated the Testing with the Projects and the IT team.
- Prepared Test Scripts for FDW and performed Test Execution.
6.TPA3 and TPA4 (Third Party Administration) :
The project involves migration of live policies from Tandem PAS to Amarta PAS which is administered by third party.
Many systems, including FDW, Omega and Tandem Commission were impacted.
The testing mainly includes checking whether the events and subevents are interfaced correctly from the Amarta PAS to FDW.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinated the Testing with the Projects and the IT team.
- Prepared Test Scripts for FDW and performed Test Execution.
Achievements:
Received the ‘Best New Joiner’ award and various ‘Best Performer’ awards.
Received the ‘Best Process Leader’ award.
II. EXL Services Ltd: (NCOP)
Worked with Norwich Union General Insurance (AVIVA) in Customer Accounts department.
The work involved FOCOL system (Online Collection system) working on various reports like New Cases, Payment, Addacs, Error Premium, Reject Letters, Diary report etc.
The work also involved working with various underwriting systems like personal lines and commercial u/w.
Platform: IBM Mainframe, FOCOL system, HUON u/w, Gemini u/w, N201 u/w.
III. Bay Systems Pvt. Ltd: (Ventive)
Worked on a product named Ventive Enterprise.
Ventive Enterprise is a web-based recruiting and staffing tool.
This application allows recruiting firm to recruit candidates and place them for a project in a company according to his skill sets. The placement can be permanent or temporary as per the requirement.
There are two kinds of users –
- The recruiter (who places the requisition for particular skill-set needed for a particular position) and
- The candidate (who uploads his resume and area of expertise along with experience details.)
The major modules are recruiting and staffing.
It provides the facility to add candidates, shortlist them and schedule an interview for them.
It also allows companies to raise requisitions for a candidate with a desired skill set and work experience.
