Job Description
Business Description: EDG Middle Office - Trade Management & Controls.
Primary Support on Exception Processing, MIFID Queue monitoring, SOX Testing, Frank B Reporting, TLM Reconciliation, Preparation of Control Packs, MIS & Error Reporting.
Job Functions / Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for:
· Adhering to standard operating procedures and controls
· Multi-tasking, with particular emphasis on daily checklists and controls
· Monitoring e-mail inboxes
· Query management
· Reconciling front end systems to back end systems to ensure trade messages send successfully to downstream system
· Perform reconciliation to ensure InterBank deals matched
· Liaising with Internal departments ie Back Office / Front Office / Middle offices
· Act as point of contact between Front Office & Back Office
· Resolving deal queries from Back Office / Front Office / Clients - and defining root cause.
· Collate and produce MIS on trading volumes quality.
· Analyse MI and report trends and spikes in FO workflows to Senior Mgmt
· Participate in various testings related to system enhancement, project implementation and new business initiatives
· Identify control gaps and suggest improvement ideas for better efficiency and effectiveness
· Understanding of Derivative products i.e. Swaps, FI, FX, FXO, Futures and Operations processes.
· A team-player, who is highly articulate, motivated, very flexible and will use their initiative to fully develop the role.
· An independent, analytical thinker, who can quickly assimilate situations through to the associated risks, business or control issues.
· Able to make rational decisions and think logically
· Excellent communication skills in order to deal with a diverse range of staff and clients and be able to succeed in a demanding and pressurised environment.
· Committed and hardworking with a strong ability to prioritise as this role will be demanding in both terms of quantity and pressure of work.
· Well organised with excellent time management skills.
· Ability to manage ad hoc projects and research and complete them accordingly with minimum supervision.
· It is essential the candidate is an effective and confident communicator as contact with the trading desk and Back Office form an integral part of the role.
· Needs to be highly numerate with excellent keyboard skills and a high-level of computer literacy.
· Needs to be aware and have an understanding of the large financial risks that can be incurred through operational errors and control risks.
· Attention to detail.
· Proactive in problem solving and developing solutions.
· Ability to respond to a changing environment.
· Ability to be innovative and improve system capabilities.
