The National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) is a premier research Institution under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi which is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. NIO conducts pure and applied research on all aspects of Ocean Sciences and supports various industries, government and non-governmental organisations through Consultancy and Contract Research & Development projects.

Age limit* : 28 years

Minimum Essential Educational Qualification :
10+2 with Science Subjects followed by 1st Class Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) of three years duration (2/2.5 years full time duration in cases of lateral admission after 10+2 if applicable) OR its equivalent OR 1st Class B.Sc. (Nursing) with one year full time professional qualification in Nursing from a recognized institute/organization.
First Class B.Sc degree in any branch of Science with B.Lib. Science from the recognized university.
10+2 with Science Subjects followed by 1st Class Diploma in Electrical Engineering of three years duration (2/2.5 years full time duration in cases of lateral admission after 10+2 if applicable) OR its equivalent. The diploma should be from the State technical board or Government approved or recognized Institution.
10+2 with Science Subjects followed by 1st Class Diploma in Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Industrial Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering of three years duration (2/2.5 years full time duration in cases of lateral admission after 10+2 if applicable) OR its equivalent OR First class B.Sc. in Physics and Electronics with one year full time professional qualification in the said discipline from a recognized institute/organisation. The diploma / degree should be from the State technical board or Government approved or recognized university / Institution.
10+2 with Science Subjects followed by 1st Class Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Ship Building Engineering of three years duration (2/2.5 years full time duration in cases of lateral admission after 10+2 if applicable) OR its equivalent. The diploma should be from the State technical board or Government approved or recognized Institution.

A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One hundred only) for General Category & OBC candidates is payable (SC, Physically Handicapped candidates and regular employees of CSIR are exempted from the payment of application fee)
