REGISTRAR
India's premier scientific research institute is seeking a dynamic and innovative Registrar to lead the administration. An attractive compensation package is offered that includes spacious on-campus accommodation in south Mumbai.
The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), founded by Dr Homi Bhabha in 1945, is India's premier institute for research in the fundamental sciences. It is an autonomous institution under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) of the Government of India. The institute seeks an imaginative and forward-looking person, having the requisite abilities, dynamism and strength of character, to function as Registrar in the Pay Band (PB-4) Rs.37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs.8,900/- plus allowances as applicable to the Central Government employees posted at Mumbai. The Registrar is provided accommodation on the Mumbai campus of TIFR.
The position is open to all qualified Indian nationals. Those serving in Central or State Government organizations have the option of applying on deputation basis according to Central Government norms. In such cases, the appointment may be regularised beyond the deputation period by mutual agreement with the parent organisation.
Qualifications and Experience : The applicant must have a graduate degree in any discipline with either (i) at least 5 years of experience in (PB-4) Rs.37400-67000 with a Grade Pay of Rs.8,700/- (or an equivalent standing in the private sector), or (ii) at least 15 years of experience in Pay Band (PB-3) Rs.15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs.7,600/- in a senior administrative position in a university, autonomous institution of higher education or R & D organization, of which at least 5 years should be as Deputy Registrar or equivalent. A postgraduate degree and experience with accounts and legal matters and/or personnel management is desirable. The candidate must also be well-acquainted with (or enthusiastic to learn about and implement) computerisation and the use of the internet towards the smooth functioning of the administration. The upper age limit for this position is 55 years.
General Conditions : The Institute reserves the right to
(i) relax any of the above criteria in case of candidates of exceptional merit – in particular, such a candidate may be offered a higher Grade Pay of Rs.10,000/-
(ii) consider any one it deems appropriate and not restrict itself only to those who respond to this advertisement.

- Entering in Tally Accounting Package the financial data for the clients.
- Preparation of Income tax Return for various assesses like Individual, Partnership Firm and Companies and liaison with the Department for filing and other related issues.
- Sales Tax – Monthly Return for TNGST and CST for various clients in the Firm and appearing for the assessment procedures, if required, on a year-to-year basis.
- Preparation of required documents for Company Incorporation with the Registrar of Companies (ROC) and filing necessary Forms after incorporation based on the requirements (For instance, Form 8 to be filed with the ROC for charge creation / modification for the loan availed by the Company from any Financial institution / Banks).
- Preparation of Fixed Asset Register with calculation of Depreciation from the year 1969 to 2005 for M/s. Hindalco Industries Limited, Renukoot, Uttar Pradesh (UP), M/s. HINDALCO POWER DIVISION, Renusagar, UP and HINDALCO FOIL & WHEEL DIVISION, Khanvel, Silvassa. The project commenced in July 2004 and ended in October 2006. The nature of job included preparation of master data of all items of fixed assets, rate of depreciation in Excel Format and the same could be used for the Oracle Applications for implementing the ERP. I was in the project team which successfully completed and appreciated by the Client Company for its proper transformation to Oracle Applications.
- Handled Internal Audit and Statutory Audit individually as well as along with team members from Small to Medium Sector Companies like Banks, Civil, Manpower, trading concerns.
In Overseas
Worked with M/s. The Wharf Hotel & Marina (Pro Diving Seychelles Pty Ltd), (Group Company of Siva Groups, Sterling Tower, Chennai), Which is an well reputed Business class hotel in Mahe, Seychelles Islands as an Accounts Supervisor from August 2008 to May 2011. - Liaison with the Bankers and Exchange Bureau for foreign exchange related transactions on a case to case basis.
- Producing rate of interest calculation report to the management for the company’s loan in both simple and compound method.
- Extracting data from the Point of sale (POS), Vista NG (FO) software on a daily basis.
- Maintaining payroll in VCS, a well known software package in Seychelles.
