DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare the patient for Haemodialysis
- Assist the doctor’s for subclavian and ‘IJ’ cathetrization
- Receive the patient with case files for Emergency Wards $ ICU.
- Canulate ‘AV fistula
- Priming the line and dialyzer
- Make the patient comfortable on the bed and check general condition, record vital signs in the master chart.
- Connect all necessary monitoring devices to the patient.
- Start oxygen as per need of the patient.
- Assist the doctor for Intubations and ventilator.
- Raising the slip through computer for medicines investigations and diet.
- Intend the required drugs every day and remaining medicines will be returned to the pharmacy.
- Checking vital signs half hourly and recording it.
- Dressing of minor and major wounds.
- Asses neurological status (Glasgow Coma Scale) blood sugar ABG in time.
- Maintaining intake and output chart.
- Collection of specimens and send to laboratories as early as possible.
- Removal of lines according to patients conditions.
- Disconnecting and washing lines and dialyzer.
- Helping the patient to mobilize.
- Assessing, planning, implementing and nursing care of critically ill patients.
- Check narcotic drugs at each shift duty and record it.
- Rotate for morning, afternoon and night shift as schedule.
- Assist the medical staff while carrying therapeutic procedures.
- Extracting blood for investigation.
- Taking care of dying patients.
- Transfer patient from department to department hospital to hospital and accompanying very ill patients.
- Co-ordinate patient care with member of health team and maintain ‘IPR’.
- Instruct junior staff and lead them.
- Strict aseptic techniques and give medications.
- Putting N.G tube and urinary catheter.
- Doing ‘CPR’.
- Shifting patient to X-ray and USG.
- Doing following procedures :-
Bed making, Bed bath, Mouth care, Administration of medications, Bladder care, Transfusion, Enema $ Bladder wash, Tube feeding.
