WALK-IN INTERVIEW

Applications in the given format are invited from eligible candidates for the engagement of Research Associate (six positions) and Senior Research Fellow (eight positions) under ICAR project on ‘National Initiative on Climate Resilient Agriculture for XIth Plan’ being operated at IVRI, Izatnagar. The candidates are required to attend the Walk-in interview as per schedule given below. The candidates should produce original copies of all certificates, testimonials and other documentary proofs at the time of interview. The engagements will be made purely on temporary basis subject to performance based extension till termination of the project. There is no provision of absorption/re-employment in IVRI/ICAR after termination of the project.

1. Name & Number of Position : Research Associates (RA) : 05
Essential Qualification : MVSc/ MSc/ Ph.D in any branch of Veterinary Science/ Animal Science/Zoology/ Dairy Extension.
Experience : Two years in R&D programme in approved project for MVSc / MSc
Desirable : Knowledge of disease data collection, analysis, Net Framework SQL server data management, MS Office, report writing etc.
2. Name & Number of Position : Research Associates (RA ) : 01
Essential Qualification : M.Sc. (Computer Science/Bioinformatics); MCA or equivalent Degree
Experience : Two years in C# or Visual Basics, and SQL server data management and ASP Net 2.0
Desirable : Experience in disease database development, updation and or certification in MCSE
3. Name & Number of Position : Senior Research Fellows (SRF)-07
Essential Qualifications : MVSc/MSc in any branch of Veterinary Science/ Animal Science/Zoology/ Dairy Extension.
Desirable : Experience of working in a research project; knowledge of disease data collection, analysis, MS Office, report writing etc.
4. Name & Number of Position : Senior Research Fellows (SRF): 01
Essential Qualification : M.Sc. (Computer Science/Bioinformatics); MCA or equivalent Degree
Desirable : Development knowledge in .Net Framework SQL server data management

5. Age Limit :
For RA : Not more than 40 years for men and 45 years for women.
For SRF : Less than 35 years for men and 40 years for women
These age limits are relaxable for the SC, ST, OBC candidates as per Govt. of India norms.
Emoluments :
For Research Associate Rs. 23000/- per month for Masters and 24000/ per month for Doctoral degree holders
For SRF (for post graduate in any subject other than Veterinary Science)- Rs. 16000/- per month consolidated for 1st & 2nd year & Rs. 18000/- per months for 3rd year.
For SRF (for post graduate Veterinary Science)- Rs. 18000/- per month consolidated for 1st & 2nd year & Rs. 20000/- per months for 3rd year
Note- HRA will be given as per rule
Duration : Initially up to March 2012 (likely to be extended in next Plan) or till termination of the project whichever is earlier

The products shelf stability was assessed by physiochemical, microbiological, and sensory qualities at ambient temperature.
- ASSESSMENT OF QUALITY AND SHELF LIFE OF SAUERKRAUT- A study on the development and assessment of quality and shelf life of Sauerkraut was carried out in the School of Food Science and Technology, Karunya University, Coimbatore -14 for 2 months and was presented in a Workshop on Biochemical Engineering “WBCE 2009”, organized by School of Biotechnology, Karunya University.
- PRODUCTION OF FIBER FORTIFIED BISCUIT - A study on the development of biscuit fortified with different fibers was carried out in the School of Food Science and Technology, Karunya University, Coimbatore -14
- UTILIZATION OF COCONUT IN PREPARATION OF COCONUT CHIPS WITH DIFFERENT SPICES- A study on preparation of coconut chips with different spices was done and the paper was submitted in a National Level symposium on “Prospective Trends in Food Processing”, conducted by Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
- RENEWABLE METHANE FROM ANAEROBIC DIGESTION OF MARINE BIOMASS – A study on the anaerobic digestion of marine biomass to produce renewable methane was carried out in the Department of Biotechnology, Karunya University, Coimbatore-14 for a period of one month and the paper was submitted in an International symposium on New Horizons in Marine Biotechnology, organized by School of Biotechnology, Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology, Thrissur, Kerala
