Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), an Autonomous Centre of University Grants Commission under Ministry of HRD; Government of India is an institution, which is playing an active and dynamic role as coordinator cum facilitator in accelerator based research in Indian Universities for the past two decades. The objective of this Centre is to provide within the University system, a world-class facility for accelerator based research in focused areas of several disciplines viz. Nuclear Physics, Materials Science, Atomic Physics and Radiation Biology.

IUAC invites applications from qualified Indian Nationals for the following positions :-

(1) Scientist (Trainee) : Number of positions :09* -(UR-3, OBC-4, SC-1, ST-1 includes backlog vacancies of OBC-2 and ST-1) Selected candidates will be paid a stipend of Rs. 15,000/- per month during the training period of one year. On successful completion of training and the selection procedure, the candidates will be placed in the post of Scientist “C” in the pay band of Rs. 15600-39100+GP Rs.5400/-
Qualification : M.Sc (Physics) with consistently good academic record from Class-X examination onwards (with at least 60% marks). Those who are appearing in the M.Sc. final examination in 2011 may also apply stating marks obtained in M.Sc. first year.
Upper Age Limit : 26 years as on 31/07/2011

(2) Engineer : 3* Posts-UR-3
Qualification :B.E., in Electronics & Communication Engineering/ Information Technology/ Computer Science/ Mechanical Engineering/ Cryogenic Engineering. Those who are appearing for in the final examination in 2011 may also apply stating marks obtained in the previous three years.
Upper Age Limit : 26 years as on 31-07-2011
Scale of pay : Pay Band + Grade Pay, PB-3: Rs.15600-39100+5400
Note :*Of the above posts at S.No. (1) & (2) Two positions are reserved for PWD (Persons with Disability)

(3) Junior Engineer : 2 Posts- UR-1,OBC-1
Qualification : Diploma in Electronics/ Civil Engineering with 60% marks and having experience of atleast 2 years in relevant field.
Upper Age Limit : 30 years as on 31-07-2011
Scale of Pay : Pay Band + Grade Pay PB-2: Rs. 9300-34800+4200

(4) Technician [Pelletron Operator] : 2 Posts [UR]
Qualification : ITI certificate in Electrical / Electronics/ Mechanical Trade with atleast 2 years relevant experience. Duties: Running and maintenance of Pelletron Accelerator and associated systems.
Upper Age Limit : 22 years as on 31-07-2011
Scale of Pay : Pay Band+Grade Pay PB-2: Rs.5200-20400+2400

(5) Assistant : 4 Posts - UR-2, OBC-1, SC-1
Maximum Age Limit : 25 Years as on 31-07-2011
Qualification : A Bachelor's Degree of a recognised University with three years experience in the field of purchase & Stores/ Accounts Establishment in a Government / University/ Autonomous Body / Reputed private firm. Knowledge of Government rules and regulations and familiarity with computers will be given preference.
Scale of Pay : Pay Band+Grade Pay PB-1 : Rs.5200-20400+2400

General conditions :
Relaxation of age and qualification for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen candidates will be as per GOI rules. Persons employed with Government will be eligible for Age Relaxation as per rules.
The posts carry the allowances such as DA, HRA, Transport Allowance etc., besides benefits like New Pension Scheme, LTC, medical reimbursement as per IUAC Rules. Candidates Selected for Scientist (Trainee), Engineer, Junior Engineer, Technician (Pelletron Operator) would be required to work in shift,round the clock duties including weekends and holidays.

Candidates claiming Reservation should attach caste certificate in the prescribed proforma of the Government of India, duly signed by the competent authority. Candidates claiming disability should submit the Disability Certificate in the format prescribed by Government of India. Those already employed in Central / State Governments, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies etc. must route their applications through proper channel and an advance copy of the application may be sent to centre directly.

The Centre reserves its right to place a reasonable limit on the total number of candidates to be called for test / interview. The institute reserves the right not to fill up the posts, cancel the advertisement in whole or part without assigning any reason and its decision in this regard will be final.

Outstation candidates called for personal interview will be paid TA as per the rules of this Centre.

Incomplete applications / without relevant supporting enclosures / application not in the prescribed format will be out-right rejected. Institute will not be responsible for any postal delay. Interim correspondence will not be entertained and replied to.
