National Informatics Centre (NIC), a premier IT organization of Government of India invites young IT professionals to join its ranks to take up challenging assignment in the domain of e-Governance.

NIC provides e-Governance services to the Government at different levels such as Central Government, State Government and District/Sub-District Administration. NIC provides spectrum of services in the domain of e-Governance including consultancy/business process reengineering, software development and roll out of applications at National level. As a part of its support to the Government, NIC has established extensive ICT infrastructure having satellite based network at more than 3,000 locations across the country, Video Conferencing facilities in 490 districts and Nationwide network including 1,00,000 (approximately) Local Area Network (LAN) nodes in different offices of central/state governments. This infrastructure referred to as NICNET provides extensive IT services including national/state level Data Centres, e-mail, web hosting, etc. Wide range of technologies in the area of Networking, database management, application development tools such as JAVA, .NET etc. are being used by NIC professionals to build e-Governance solutions in different domains. NIC, therefore, provides a unique opportunity to IT professionals to get extensive exposure to the state of the art, as well as futuristic technologies and also provide real life large scale implementation platform for e- Governance solution for Government at different levels in the country.

POST & SCALE OF PAY : Scientific Officer/Engineer-SB (Programmer) in the pay scale of Rs. 9300- 34800 (PB2) Grade Pay 4600 with usual allowances like DA, HRA etc. as per Government of India orders from time to time (Total emoluments Rs.33,439/-p.m. approximately in ‘A’ Class cities). The place of posting can be anywhere in the country.

Qualification and Experience :
(a) B.E./B.Tech/MCA with first class or minimum 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent and specialization in Computer Science/Computer related areas;
or
(b) M.Sc in Computer Science with first class or at least 60% marks or equivalent;
or
(c) Master’s degree in Physics/Maths/Statistics/Operation Research with either Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science from a Govt. recognized institution/University or at least three years of experience in the areas indicated under Job Description is essential. The Master’s degree and Post Graduate Diploma should be with minimum 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade.

AGE LIMIT : 18-30 years as on last date of receipt of applications. The age relaxation will be as per Government of India instructions/rules.

Project Details
Project Title : Optimization and Production of anti-cancer drug ‘Asparaginase’ from Coliforms. (MSc PartII)
Description : Asparaginase is an important anti cancer drug especially for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. The project involved isolation of coliforms producing asparaginase, production of the enzyme, purification and checking the anti tumor activity of the enzyme. The drug produced showed 50% cytotoxic activity.
# Presented the project in a UGC-sponsored ‘National conference on current trends in Biological Sciences’ held in Mumbai, India (Jan 2011).

SEMINAR ACTIVITY :
Presented a seminar as a part of the ‘AIDS awareness programme’(2007) conducted by the Microbiology department of Vivekananda college of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mumbai University-India.
Presented the Papers :
- ‘Cancer Immunotherapy based on killing of Salmonella - infected tumor cells’.
- ‘Titanium Dioxide nanoparticles-induced DNA damage and genetic instability In vivo in mice’ in K.J.Somaiya College as part of the MSc Part II curriculum (2011).
