    NATURE OF DUTIES
    - Provide immediate care in extreme life threatening emergencies and rapid grasp of a problem.
    - Identify and manage a patient crisis until physician assistance is available.
    - Render comprehensive care by promoting a healing climate and providing comfort measures.

    o Assisting in minor surgeries in minor OT include suturing, wound debridement, excisions & biopsy, tube thorocotomy, k wire fixation, CMR & plastering, tendon repair, fasciotomy, circumcision, stump closure, implant removal, incision & drainage, forign boby removal, skin biopsy electric cautry,etc
    o Application of orthopedic equipments such as splinting fracture site, plastering, cervical collar, Philadelphia collar, arm pouch, shoulder immobilizer, C&C sling, clavicle brace, wrist splint, LS corset, skin traction, knee brace, ankle binder, application of crape bandages etc.
    o Assessing the physical and psychological needs or the patients. Giving hair shampoo, giving hot and cold application according to the condition of the patients,
    o Check for complication such as bleeding. Hypotension, hypertension, bradyeardia, fever, infection, retention of urine. Hypoxia. Vomiting. Pain. Arrhythmias etc.
    o Taking care of unconscious patients - Introducing airway, giving Ryles tube feeding. Sterile wound care, diabetic patients wound care. Helping patients in feeding and toileting. Serving diet trays especially for hypertensive and diabetic patients. Mouth care. Sponge bath, back care
    o Burn-patient care like sterile wound care, fluid replacement
    o Immobilize the fracture site, splinting
    o Emergency care of poison patient : Insertion of IV cannula, Gastric lavage, ryle’s tube insertion and aspiration, catheterization
    o Maintaining records, reports and inventory checking.
    o Follow up discharge teaching. Counseling of the patient and relatives.
    - Proper documentation.
    - Administer chemotherapy on a day care basis.
    - Shall oversee and guide the work of other nursing and support staff as per the need.
    - Assures open and timely communication with patients their significant others and team members to ensure the occurrence of effective therapeutic communications.
    - Controlled use of narcotics in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
    - Assess what can be safely omitted from or added to medical orders and getting appropriate and timely responses from physicians.
