Software Engineer - Development :
Job Description :
This position involves a full range of computer programming work on Java either independently or as a project team member using structured and/or object oriented techniques for systems development.
You would be involved in review of logic and decision making regarding major modifications and occasionally lead and train lower level programmers.
In a senior position you will be required to provide second-line support directly to customers and advise the front-line support team on issues as required.
Requirements :
EDUCATION :
Graduate / Graduate Equivalent Diploma in software or hardware, preferably engineering.
EXPERIENCE :
Prior experience of at least 1 - 2 year(s) in a similar position is a must.
GENERAL :
This profile requires proficiency in J2SE Programming covering but not limited to Core Java, JDBC, Servlets / JSP, Networking / Socket Programming is a must. Good command over HTML and JavaScript is also essential.
You must have clear programming fundamentals and experience with Object Oriented Programming and Design Patterns.
Understanding of Networking and familiarity with Internet protocols like HTTP, FTP, LDAP, POP3, SMTP and IMAP will be added advantage.
You are expected to be task- and deadline-oriented, and not a clock-watcher.
You MUST have excellent communications skills and good problem solving skills.

Software Engineer - Web Development (LAMP) :
Job Description :
This profile involves designing, developing, implementing and managing the QuantumLink web applications for QLC customers as well as for internal MIS and Data Warehousing.
Your duties would entail a full range of computer programming work mainly using PHP and MySQL either independently or as a project team member using structured and/or object oriented techniques for systems development.
You would also be expected to review logic and make decisions regarding major modifications. You may also occasionally lead and train lower level programmers.
Requirements :
EDUCATION :
Graduate / Graduate Equivalent Diploma in software or hardware, preferably engineering.

Prior experience of at least 2 years in a similar position is a must.

You are expected to have an understanding of Web Applications theories and Structural Designs and a good sense of user interface design and aesthetics of a web utility.
Familiarity With PERL desirable but not mandatory.
You are expected to be task- and deadline-oriented, and not a clock-watcher.
You MUST have excellent communications skills and be very patient and polite while solving problems for customers over the phone
