ACADEMIC PROJECT :
Final year project : The project carried out in 8th SEM was “Micro controller Based Aero Engine Simulator’’ in HAL.
Micro controller Based Aero Engine Simulator model for fuel flow control unit DECU (Digital Electronic Control Unit).

Problem definition :
In early times for checking the proper functioning of (GCP) Ground Control Panel Digital Electronic Control Unit (DECU) it was required to disconnect all the harness between them. This provides to be a very difficult task. Hence it was required to design a setup to overcome this disadvantage.

Solution :
The Micro controller Based Aero Engine Simulator provides a proper solution to this problem. This set up can be inserted between the GCP the Engine without disturbing the actual connected between them. It stimulates certain functions of the engine so that we can test the DECU it is also used to test the GCP. The project stimulation engine operation of DECU on ground before being used for aircraft run/flight. This set up also simulates part of the ground supporting equipment.

DECU;: provides control of fuel flow to pilot less Target Aircraft Engine (PTEA). It is a micro-controlled based system which implements a proportional Integrator Differentiators (PID) type of control in providing fuel to the engine. It compares demand speed and the actual speed of the engine and accordingly controls stepper motor position which in turn controls the fuel value.
