GE Healthcare (GEHC), a unit of General Electric Company, provides transformational medical technologies and services in medical imaging, performance improvement, drug discovery, technologies. As to support the business applications such as Sales Work Bench, service work bench, Electronic Order Management (eOM) client has a mixture of OLTP and Data Warehouse databases implemented on Oracle 8i/9i/10g.
The company is a potpourri of businesses. It makes power generators & healthcare equipments. It makes health-imaging devices and has proposed to develop and integrate Sales Work Bench and Electronic Order Management (eOM) applications for their business. All these integrations will involve number of programs integrated with various applications, databases and middleware. The project will also include gap analysis, handling change requests, detailed design, conversion, system test, rollout of programs & user training.
Responsibilities
Role : Oracle DBA
Responsible for handling more than 500 DEV/TEST databases spread across the US & UK. Technology involved – 10g (RAC) on Linux servers, Stand alone database on 9i/10g Solaris and Linux Servers.
- Proactively monitoring of databases (taking care of different database alerts and user related db level issues) and handle level 1 escalation of production issues
- Interaction with the load testing team and creating Load test reports generation of AWR reports/ADDM reports
- Installing and Maintaining database monitoring tools – AutoDBA.
- Worked with Oracle Corporation and opened SR’s to resolve a number of bugs and issues.
- Creation of tablespaces, user maintenance, database security imposition by creation and granting of roles and privileges.
