Project Title : Design and analysis of gating system for hub casting
- Duration : 12 Months
- Environment : pro E, solid cast.
- Description : The hub of a centrifugal fan has been taken for study. The mathematical models already developed have been adopted in the design of gating system. The gating system has been modeled in PRO-E. With this design the model is analyzed through SOLIDCAST software for optimum gating system suitable for directional solidification. The hub has been analyzed, redesigned for various dimensions of sprue, runner and gate for better performance. The performance measure has been taken as temperature distribution. The final design of the gating system has been chosen and recommended for production.

Battery is the alternate source of energy after fuel, electricity etc. The Battery consists of Positive and Negative Plates, which are made up of Active material (Lead oxide + Sulfuric Acid), Grid and Sulfuric Acid. TITLE : Manufacturing Of An Aluminium Pressure Die Casting Process

DESCRIPTION : Casting is one of the oldest manufacturing processes and is the most promising and effective production process.Casting is a process of pouring a molten metal in the hollow cavity of desired shape. Low inputs and high production is every industry’s vision. So is in the case of casting industry where the need of effective and efficient management of resources is of atmost importance. Die casting is one of the useful technique to produce the large configuration parts.Pressure die casting process employs a metal mould into which molten metal can be transferred with the use of externally applied pressure.High pressure die casting enables economical quantity production of castings at a rapid rate.For custom mold bases to use the right material required by the customer becomes difficult.By the application of CNC for the die making of pressure die casting gives more accurate results.So this project deals with study of the entire process of pressure die casting, starting from Die Making till Dispatch through various processes like pouring the molten metal into the Machine, Machining, Leak Testing, Fabrication and Quality Control and the application of CNC for making the die in this process to get the accurate automobile part with in the less time wanted by the customer.

TITLE : Influence Of Laminate Size & Fiber Orientation On Impact Behaviour Of Epoxy Resin & E-Glass Fiber Composite Material
ROLE : Preparing & Analyzing The Laminate’s Behaviour
DESCRIPTION : Fiber Reinforced materials are widely used in many industrial structures including automotive ,aviation & civil due to their lower weights compared to metal structures.These are becoming a good replacement for current metal ones . So in this project 6 different fiber reinforced composite plates of different size are studied after being impacted by a standard drop weight with different impact energies & moments . These tests were conducted to characterize the type & extent of the damages observed in laminate subjected to different impact velocities : 2 to 4.5 m/sec . The response of these laminates to drop-weight low velocity impact at energy levels ranging from 10 to 25J was investigated. The Damage Zones are studied under ultrasonic non destructive inspection (NDT).this test method determines the damage behavior of multidirectional polymer matrix composite laminated plates subjected to a Drop-Weight impact.The damage Resistance properties generated by this test method highly dependent upon several factors ,which include specimen Geometry, Layup , Impactor mass & Impactor Energy.
