Advertisement for contractual engagement of 3 Sub-Inspectors

Kolkata Port Trust intends to engage 3 Sub-Inspectors for Port Security Organisation, on contract basis, from amongst ex. Army, Police, CISF, BSF, in the rank equivalent to Sub-Inspector in Police. Applications furnishing detailed Bio-data, as per following format, alongwith two recent passport size photographs, should be submitted in sealed envelope superscribed “Application for contractual engagement of Sub-Inspector for PSO” by 17-00 hours on 15.7.2011 to “Secretary, Kolkata Port Trust, 15, Strand Road, Kolkata-700 001”:-

2. The selected candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience :-
• Experience of not less than 15 years in Army/Police/CISF/BSF.
• He should be at least Graduate in any discipline of a recognized University,
• Age should be 40 to 55 years on the date of application.

3. The candidate will be responsible for the following jobs :-
a) Supervision of security of TT Shed area primarily in shift duty but may also have to exercise supervision over other areas.
b) Co-ordinating deployment of personnel of Port Security Organisation (PSO)/Rajya Sainik Board.
c) Other functions of PSO as may be given from time to time.

Following terms and conditions will be applicable against such contract :-
(xx) The engagement will be for a period of one year and on expiry of the said period, the contractual engagement will be automatically terminated. However, on expiry of the contract, KoPT reserves the right to enter into a fresh contract for such period and on such terms as may be mutually agreed upon by the parties.
(xxi) The candidate will be paid a fixed consolidated remuneration of Rs.10,000/- per month.
(xxii) The candidate will have the option of availing of the facility of KoPT Qrs. against payment of scheduled rent.
(xxiii) The candidate will be required to work at any place/office within the jurisdiction of KoPT. No over time will be payable if required to work beyond normal duty hours, in case of emergency.
(xxiv) The candidate will be required to wear uniform to be supplied by KoPT. He will also carry arms to be provided by KoPT, if required.
(xxv) The candidate will be on duty for 6 days in a week with one weekly roster off day. He will not be paid any allowance for working in the night shift.
(xxvi) The candidate will be entitled to 15 days leave in a year (and proportionate in case of engagement for a lesser period) which may be availed of with prior approval. For any unauthorized absence in excess of admissible leave, pro-rata deduction will be made from the consolidated remuneration.
(xxvii) Additionally, sick leave to the extent of 10 days in a year (12 months from the date of engagement and proportionate in case of engagement for a lesser period) on the ground of illness may be allowed without any deduction from the remuneration, on the basis of certification from the KoPT Medical Officer. Intimation of sickness should be conveyed to the Head of the Department/ Reporting Officer forthwith in writing together with certificate of illness from a registered Medical Practitioner, in addition to verbal intimation over phone.
(xxviii)For work on any weekly off day/declared National Holiday in exigency, the candidate will be granted a compensatory day of rest conveniently, in lieu thereof, and the candidate will not be entitled to any other compensation, monetary or otherwise, for the same.
(xxix) The candidate will be entitled to indoor and outdoor medical facilities as are available in KoPT Centenary Hospital for self only. However, no reimbursement for medicine/ medical articles purchased from outside, diagnostic tests done outside or treatment received outside, will be allowed.
(xxx) The candidate will report to Chief Security Officer, PSO/Asstt. Supdt.(Security),PSO/Security Officer (PSO).
(xxxi) The candidate will be responsible for the charge and care of KoPT’s money, goods and stores and all other properties that may be entrusted on him and will be accountable for the same.
(xxxii) The contractual engagement may also be terminated by giving one month’s notice from either side. However, the engagement is terminable on 24 hours’ notice for unsatisfactory performance and/or for any act considered to be derogatory/detrimental to the interest of the Kolkata Port Trust.
(xxxiii)The engagement is subject to verification of antecedent of the candidate.
