    M.Tech Project (1 Year) :

“Thin Film Photovoltaic Devices”- Semiconductor Sensitized titanium dioxide Solar cell.
I have already fabricated titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanopores. At first, titanium film of thickness of 700-800nm were deposited by Radio Frequency Magnetron sputtering method on glass and silicon (100) substrates. Then it is anodized by electrochemical anodization method both in parallel plate and top bottom anodization cell.
Both titanium film & commercially available foil have been used in the experiment to form nanopores and nanotube structures.
These nanopores and nanotube structures of TiO2 have already been sensitized it with lower bandgap semiconductor material Cadmium sulphide (CdS) by chemical bath deposition method. Now it will be sensitized with ruthenium based dye N719.
XRD, FESEM and AFM patterns of the sample have already been studied to correlate the surface morphology with observed photovoltaic properties.
The photoluminescence spectra of both the TiO2 nanotubes and CdS sensitized TiO2 nanotubes have already been studied to verify whether it is capable of extending the visible light absorption efficiencies of titanium dioxide (TiO2). It has shown a red shift. Also UV- Visible spectroscopy and FTIR spectroscopy have been taken.
The photocurrent response and I-V characteristics of the cadmium sulphide and dye sensitized titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanotubes will be investigated.
    Project undertaken in M.Sc. :
Study of “Electrical characteristics of Cobalt Silicate Glass prepared by Sol-Gel Technique”.
