a) Stevedoring/Jetty/Rail Operations :-
As Incharge of stevedoring /Transportation /open yard / rail operations, I’m responsible for smooth handling of all commodities being presently handled through this port , achieving high productivity rates without incurring demurrages with least operational cost pmt and with out compromising on quality of cargo.

At present we are handling Iron Ore from Orissa Mines, Imported Coal from Indonesia, Steel Export, Fertilizers, break bulk cargoes and Container cargo. Also, we have handled project cargo.

Key Responsibilities :-
All rail operations like rake placement, loading/unloading of cargo.
Transportation to warehouse through Weigh Bridge and stacking.
Bulking of cargo, mechanical cleaning and bulk storage with minimum handling loss.
Warehouse/space management, Day to day operational planning,
Documentation with Customs and with other agencies / parties.
Prepare/implement vessel operation plan along with contractor and vessel.
Berth the vessel at proper berth/place/position shore cranes/mechanized system for safe and smooth operation.
Follow the loading /discharging sequence at all times for smooth operation.
Initial and final draft survey supervision,
Cargo re-conciliation on a daily basis, ship to ship basis ,
Intra Port Transportation of bulk/bagged cargoes,
Cargo Documentation with ship, shippers, Receivers, agents etc..
Unloading of rakes & high stacking of cargo with sufficient space in between.
Continuous water sprinkling to avoid fire & air pollution.
Participating in survey for Cargo quantity, Cargo quality, Moisture content etc..

Intra port transportation of cargo up to wharf & loading into vessels.
Minimize handling loss (below 1.0%) as far possible.
Obtaining loading/discharge permission from Customs.
Daily lessoning with Port, Customs, Handling agent etc... For smooth loading & discharge of cargo & quick turnaround for vessel.
Avoiding contamination of cargo by other cargoes & foreign materials.
Obtaining / Releasing B/L’s .
Shifting of cargo to railway siding & loading into rakes within allotted free time.
Maintaining daily cargo receipts, daily ship loading & daily dispatches.


b) Warehousing, Back up operations & customer service :-
The job profile includes total cargo handling from receiving either from rail head or by trucks till storage in warehouse for further loading into ships for export and receiving discharged cargo from ship, store in warehouses, bagging and standardization for rail/road transportation to different destinations as per client’s requirement.
