ISC SPECIMEN QUESTION PAPER FOR 2011 EXAMINATION

Question 1
Write a composition (in approximately 450-500 words) on any one of the following subjects:
(You are reminded that you will be rewarded for orderly and coherent presentation of material, use of appropriate style and general accuracy of spelling, punctuation and grammar.)
(a) You are returning to your town or city after a long stay abroad. What are the thoughts and emotions that fill your mind and heart as you return.
(b) ‘Boys will be boys,” say fond mothers. Explore this statement, giving your views.
(c) “Money is the root cause of all unhappiness in the World.” Argue for or against the proposition.

(d) Joy.
(e) Concern for the Environment is of prime importance today. Suggest ways in which young people can contribute to preserve our environment.
(f) Write an original short story with the title: ‘The Beginning of the End.’.

Question 2
A devastating cyclone has hit your city recently and has left a trail of destruction in its wake. Write a report on the cyclone and its aftermath in about 300 words, using the notes given below. You may include other relevant details.
Cause of the cyclone – date and time when it struck – warning issued by the meteorological department – intensity and wind velocity – destruction to people and property – panic among the people – rescue and relief measures undertaken by the administration – role of media – compensation announced by government.

PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN
Major Project :- Automatic car parking system.
Description :- In this project we show multilevel car parking with two floors. We use four sensors on each floor. On lift that carry the car on each floor. Along with 8 sensor we use two saperate sensors for each floor. On this sensor lift stop automatically.
When we press a start switch then lift is to be on and immediate sense the space in the parking station. If the space is available then lift start and stop on particular floor, which is displayed in the LCD. If no space is available then lift is stop and display the message no space. If all space is vacant then lift park the vehicle on priority basic. The idea is doveloped by using 8051 microcontroller.
Minor Project :- Automatic Water level Indicator.
Description :-The system provide the visual water level indication with audio alarm. The circuit produce alarm when water level reaches at preset level.
