Will I get a job in India? [Help needed]
I have been living in the USA for the last 10 years. I am moving to Hyderabad, India in Jan 2009.
I am looking for a guidance which will help me in finding a decent job in Hyderabad.
About my background - I am working in IT (web development area) for 8 plus years in the US. I have a bachelors in Electronics Engineering. Recently I have completed Masters in Information technology. All my experience in IT is using Microsoft Technologies. In my current job we use Classic ASP as well as ASP.net. I have worked on ASP.net version 1.1 using Visual Studio 2003 for overall 7 months from year 2005 thru 2008. This year I got little exposure to ASP.net 2.0 project. Mostly my experience is with Classic ASP. For the remaining of the year, I will be working on classic ASP projects. Bottom line is my experience is with classic ASP with some exposure to ASP.net. But the current market trend is .NET, so I am planning to prepare for .NET certification or getting into a full time .NET project. In my current job we don’t have .NET project for next few months, so possibility of getting into a full time .Net project is low.
About the certification, I am thinking about 70-528 (Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 – web based client development). With only four months left, I am confused what should I focus on?
Will this certification help me in getting a job? Or what certifications will help?
Will I be able to find a decent job in Hyderabad? What is the salary range?
Any help / direction is greatly appreciated.

Hi Priya,
This is kavin from Maryland. Coming to your question, .Net framework 2.0 is more than enough to fetch a job in india if possible also try to finish 70-536 certification. Apart from .Net 2.0 i would suggest you to get little exposure with .Net 3.5 especially in WCF. Companies in US are widely switching to 3.5 from 2.0, soon India may also follow the same path. So its better to have an exposure in the fundamentals of .Net 3.5, but i never say that 2.0 is not enough, but its becomes easier if you know 3.5 a bit.
thanks,
kavin
