Age : Between 21 and 28 years as on 1st July,2011.Relaxable for 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC.

Educational and other qualification :
Essential :
(i) Possession of a valid driving license for light and heavy motor vehicles.
(ii) At least 4 years driving experience of light and heavy motor vehicles provided that the candidates should have at least one year experience of driving heavy vehicles and they must be in possessions of valid driving license to that effect.
(iii) Ability to read and write local language and to make simple arithmetical calculations.

Desirable :
Middle standard pass.

The six members of the Board hold portfolios of Personnel, Operations, Technology, Postal Life Insurance, Human Resources Development, Planning respectively. The Joint Secretary and Financial Advisor to the Department is a permanent invitee to the Board. The Board is assisted by a senior staff officer of the Directorate as Secretary to the Board. Deputy Directors General, Directors and Assistant Directors General provide the necessary functional support for the Board at the Headquarters
