    Job Designation : Civilian Programmer

    Number of Positions : 01 (One)

    Pay Scale : Pay Band-2 Rs.9300-34800 with Grade Pay Rs.4600/- (Group ‘B’ Gazetted).

    Educational Qualifications :
    1. Master’s Degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Operation/Research/Computer Science or a degree in Engineering of a recognised University or equivalent.
    2. The training in Computer Programming/System Designing.
    3. 2 year’s experience as a programmer in a Government office,recognized Institute or a business concern of repute.

    Desirable :
    Experience in the field of Inventory Control in a Government office or a business concern of repute.

    Age Limit : The maximum age limit for appointment on deputation shall not exceed 56 years,as on the closing date of receipt of the applications.

    - Completed a project on ‘Fitting of Infant Mortality Rate for different states in India and determination of covariates for future prediction’ at University of Calcutta under Prof. B Ganguly, Prof. NK Mandal, Prof. A Sengupta, Prof. A Chatterjee
    Objective of the project :
    Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) is regarded as an important and sensitive indicator of public health status of a community. Here I studied the 20covariates obtained from NFHS3 from the 28states of India to find the best set of covariates affecting the infant mortality rate.

    Poisson Regression

    Conclusion :
    The IMR relates with a number of covariates e.g. % of women aged 20-24 married at 18 years of age,% of women aged 15-19 who are already mother, % birth assisted by professionals, % of children aged 6-9 months receiving semi solid food, and % of Women who are over weight.
