The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is a premier national Institute in the country dedicated to research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Allied Sciences & Technology. The Institute has field stations at Kavalur & Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, Gauribidanur & Hoskote in Karnataka, and Leh & Hanle in J&K. The Institute has taken up the responsibility of building space-based Visible Emission Line Coronagraph on Aditya-I mission along with Indian Space Research Organisation. Applications are invited from bright, young and highly motivated individuals to involve in the development of state of the art instrument for the studies of various aspects of sun.

Qualification & Experience : Consistently good academic career with First class M.Sc(Tech)/M.Tech. in Optics/Photonics from a recognised University/institution. Minimum of one (or more) year of research experience in any of the leading national laboratories in India is essential. Candidate should be experienced in working in ultra-clean laboratories, test and calibration of optical components and integration of space payloads. Working knowledge of optical design software packages such as ZEMAX etc. is essential.

Qualification & Experience : Consistently good academic career with First Class B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university/institution. Minimum of one year (or more) experience as Engineer Trainee or Technical/Engineer Associate in any of the leading national laboratories. Candidates should have the domain experience in designing space-payloads for science missions. Hands on experience in building finite element modeling, solving and post processing and report generation is necessary. Proficiency in AutoCAD®, Solid Edge®, Autodesk Inventor®, MSC Visual Nastran, Hyper Works etc. is essential.

Terms & conditions :
1. The above appointment is purely temporary and is exclusively for the Aditya Project and the tenure of appointment will be initially for a period of THREE YEARS, which includes a probationary period of ONE YEAR. This may be extended for the project duration currency.
2. The appointee is liable for transfer to any of the Institute’s field stations and locations selected for the project.
3. Age relaxation is permissible to SC, ST & OBC candidates and also to physically handicapped candidates as notified by Govt. of India from time to time.
4. The date for determining the upper age limit, qualifications and experience shall be the closing date prescribed for receipt of completed applications.
5. - This vehicle is capable of moving on railway platform and tracks. The vehicle has stair-climbing capability so as to negotiate the stairs at the flyovers between two platforms.
- The continuously moving double toothed rubber belt removes ground contact points from rear and front of vehicle and shift new contact point in front of robot.
- Due to its stair climbing ability and property to cross hurdles, it can also be used for general surveillance purpose as it is equipped with a pan tilt camera.
- Seminar on “WORKING OF AERO ENGINES”.
- H.S.C. with Vocational subject as “MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE” with an impressive score in the subject.
