CURRICULUM PROJECT :

M.E. PROJECT TITLE :
FABRICATION OF ENERGY SAVER SET FOR ARC WELDING MACHINE
Normally the Welding Sets is kept switched on continuously although welding operations are not carried out. During these periods the welding transformer draws no-load current which is not doing any useful work. In this project work Semiautomatic process is selected, here to eliminate the ideal period the, Electronic unit (SENSOR) automatically switches off the set, by cutting off supply to the operator, when the welding set is not in use for the factory preset time interval of about 20 seconds. This time interval can be increased or decreased, depending upon the operating condition.
To eliminate the current during non-use periods, a printed circuit board is fabricated along with the PROXIMITY SENSOR (3-5mm) this electronic sensing unit detects these non-weld periods and switches off the power to the welding transformer. When welding operation is to be restarted, the operator just needs to interrupt the sensor with the material to be welded and the unit instantly start the weld and the operation is carried out continuously.

“DESIGN OF ALTERNATIVE HYDRAULIC POWER PACK FOR WEDGE SLITTING MACHINE”.

BRIEF OVERVIEW OF PROJECT :
The objective of my project is to design the alternative hydraulic power for wedge slitting machine. Disc slitting machine is a special purpose machine, which is used to produce the slit in the wedge used in different type of valves. In this machine I have designed a new hydraulic circuit from the old circuit by eliminating some of the components and modified the circuit with new existing hydraulic components selected form catalogue of REXROTH and BOSCH group.
By this new design of circuit the major benefit achieved are reduction in machining time, increase in production rate, and Improve in Efficiency.

WORK EXPERIENCE :
Worked as a DESIGN & PRODUCTION ENGINEER (SPRING PIPE SUPPORT) in
RADCOFLEX INDIA PVT.LTD. Chennai. From 05/09/09 Till 17/12/10.
