“RELIABILITY ANALYSIS OF SPV SYSTEM FOR DIFFERENT SOLAR PANELS”
DESCRIPTION :
Renewable energy resources such as wind, wave, solar, micro hydro, tidal and biomass among others are becoming more important because of increasingly restricted environmental constraints. India has a 12% shortage in power during the peak hours. There is around 20,000MW shortage in the country. Out of many renewable energy sources solar energy also forms more promising energy source. The reasonable and effective utilization of solar energy is an important path which can deal with the global energy crisis at present.
The generating capacity of solar energy depends on the sun’s intensity, sunshine hour and the sky conditions. Due to this dependency, solar irradiance is mostly characterized by short time fluctuations as it responds to these changes instantly. The probability distribution of irradiance fluctuations is difficult to predict due to various uncertainties. Since the efficiency of solar panels differ from panel to panel, it is logical to predict the amount of radiation received by the solar panel. In this regard a study has been taken up to analyse the reliability of different Solar Photovoltaic system considering different types of solar panels using MATLAB software.
