Research Specialist – Economics
Location | Bangalore
Position ID: RSE/URC-RAD
Expertise in: Economics of Education or Development Economics or Econometrics with proven experience in Policy Analysis.
Principal Responsibilities
Serve as a research specialist in the area of the school support system in India.
Carry out primary and secondary research in the area with a view to:
o Establishing a thorough understanding about the school support structure in India; its history and shifts in approach,
o Mapping international trends and debates on the subject,
o Analysing policy and making recommendations for policy reform,
o Identifying gaps and further areas for research.
Analyse policy trends and secondary data.
Liaison with programme teams to identify how research can inform implementation of programmes.
Prepare relevant reports, papers and articles of publishable quality and content for teaching of relevant courses at Azim Premji University (APU).
Represent the organisation at Conferences and Seminars.

Attributes, Qualification and Experience
Academic Qualification:
M.Phil/Ph.D in Social Sciences, Education, Public Administration, Development Studies
or
Post Graduate with 5-6 years of relevant research experience.
Ability/Skill:
Good ability to do both qualitative and quantitative research,
Competency of using relevant software packages for data analysis and research,
Analytical ability and attention to detail,
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English,
Proven abilities in research through publications and presentations at seminars/workshops,
Ability to work in teams.
Good understanding of:
o public policies and macro policy environment,
o the education system in India,
o Research methodologies and tools.
Experience of research in a reputed organization, experience in education will be an added advantage,
Understanding of education system,
Good interpersonal skill,
Capable of independent work with minimal supervision
Willingness to travel
Fluency in at least one regional language is necessary.

The objective of my life is to do small things through which I can utilize my inner potentials and skills for the welfare of the mankind at large, professionally and also voluntarily with utmost perseverance and commitment.
Present Job Profile :
Project In-charge for Various Programmes for all India level :
I am Assistant to Research and Development Department, responsible in assisting with my computer skills and researching on the queries of the community. Also, I am a Sound Engineer involved in Publication, where I am to find the right voice for creating audio modules for the Community. Apart from this I am the faculty for training adolescent with Adolescent psychology and faculty for training youth with Devotional Literature, Role of Intellect etc. I also serve as a mentor for the Teacher’s Training program including mentor ship, observation and giving feedback to the religious teachers of primary and secondary level. As a project in charge, I have to work in team with the volunteers for researching and designing curriculum's for parents, students, youth and also aspiring volunteers to serve the institution. Also, I was part of training the parents of almost all over India with monitoring their Children’s Education in spiritual world; I play a role of a preacher called as Al-Waeza preaching our community of our country. Apart from academic work, my role extends to all administrative activities, budget preparation, strategic planning, human resource planning, implementation and reviewing and reporting of the same to the concerned person. I often travel various parts of India and train the Community People with their different needs on holistic developments.
Apart form the Job Profile :
I have voluntarily served as a facilitator for ‘Aga Khan Youth & Sports Board for India, helping the rural children of Gujarat.
I take up sessions for senior citizens in western India Region under Aga Khan Social Welfare Board for India.

And being a lifelong learner, I constantly put in efforts to learn more & more by continuously attending various program. Apart from my professional work, my study in Hypnotism connects my being into Holistic Training and Personal Counseling. By the grace of God, I have fortunately healed many people psychologically. Training and Healing people of all ages, transforms and pushes me to take initiative of making this world a better place to live in. Therefore, I want to use my skills and knowledge for the up-liftment of the humanity at large.

Lastly, my intention of choosing your esteemed Institute is because I believe and envision that “every Individual has the intrinsic ability to do great deeds if provided the right guidance, encouragement and freedom to dream the impossible”. I think that Social help is like teaching a person to fish rather than giving fish.
