    Project Details :
Project : Implementation of rc4 stream cipher:
The IEEE 802.11 (WiFi –Wireless Fidelity) is a wireless LAN technology based on a cellular architecture. The important part of wireless MAC layer is the security (WEP/RC4 algorithm) implementation. Security protocol is the part of the data link layer.
    Description :
The main feature of cryptography is to work out with the security, authentication and integrity problems. The complexity of these problems introduced several categories of algorithms. A well known algorithm is RC4 Stream Cipher
    1. RC4 uses a variable length key from 1 to 256 bytes to initialize a 256 byte array.
    2. . The RC4 Stream Cipher works in two phases, key setup phase and pseudo random key stream generator phase. Both phases must be performed for every new key.
Wireless LAN (WIFI) would provide the following salient functionality
    - The big advantage of WiFi is its simplicity and they are providing increasingly higher access speeds with each generation.
    - Initially, wireless stations had a top speed of about 1Mbps today; wireless stations have a top speed of 54 Mbps.
    - WLANsis sometimes even more economical and efficient than installing wired networks in a whole building.
    - WEP uses the default key or key-mapping key and the RC4 algorithm for encryption.
    - The Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) protocol is used to protect MPDUs.
    - It is a flexible solution for any cryptographic system as its key length ranges from 8 to 128.
    Other Features of the application
    - This security scheme is applicable for all wireless LAN technologies.
    - The application itself will be built using key setup phase and rancode generation phase.
    - Reasonably strong.
    - Self-synchronizing and computationally efficient.
    Responsibilities :
    - Worked in the 4 member team as a project leader.
    - Worked on understanding the requirements of the application.
    - Worked on coding and corresponding waveforms.
    Roles & Responsibilities
    - Currently involved in composed of one or more Basic Service Set (BSS) to improve the performance of the functionality.
    - Performed security analysis on wireless LAN technologies and that yield good improvement in functionality.
    - Currently working as focal for WIRELESS LAN issues.
    - Involved in design a coding and implementation of RONS code cipher.
