    Application are invited on the prescribed form for the post of DIRECTOR

    in the PB-4 - RS.37400-67000 + AGP RS.10,OOO/- plus Non-Practicing Allowance (only to person with medical qualifications), D.A. & other allowances as admissible under the rules in force in the Institute from time to time. Free unfurnished residential accommodation will be provided within the premises of the Institute.

    QUALIFICATIONS ESSENTIAL :

    Medical Qualifications : A high Post-graduate qualification as required by M.C.1. and included in Schedule I and II or Part II of the third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (person possessing qualifications included in Part I and II of the third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in Section 13(3) of the Act). OR .

    Non-Medical Qualifications : A scholar of eminence with Post-graduate qualifications with Ph.D./D.Sc. degree in the field of immunology, biochemical genetics, molecular biology or in any pre-clinical disciplines, having made significant contribution in the field of specialization as evidenced by publications in journals of repute.

    WORK EXPERIENCE :
    i. Teaching and/or research experience of not less than 10 years in Chest or Allied Speciality.
    ii. 15 years standing in the profession after post-graduation.
    iii. Practical and administrative experience in the field of medical relief, medical research, medical education or public health organization and adequate experience of running an important scientific educational institution either as its Head or Professor and Head of the Department for 5 years. .

Chest Institute, University of Delhi, Post Box NO.21 01, Delhi-110 007. The application form & other details can also be downloaded from our website www.vpcLorg.in. The complete application with self attested photocopies of relevant documents in support of educational qualifications and experience must reach to the Deputy Registrar latest by 06.06.2011 (4:00 p.m.).

    NOTE :
    1. It will be open to the University to consider the names of suitable candidates who may not have applied. Relaxation of any of the qualification may be made in exceptional cases on the recommendations of the Selection Committee .
    2. Canvassing in any form by or on behalf of the candidate will disqualify him/her.
    3. Candidates from outside Delhi when called for interview will be paid to and fro single second class rail fare by the shortest route.
    4. The Institute reserves the right not to fill up the vacancy advertised if the circumstances so warrant.

    Title : Worked on the project titled “Antimicrobial potential of various
    Herbal plants on clinical pathogens” as a part of Msc degree.
    Description : This work deals with investigating the antimicrobial activities of seven plant extracts and two essential oils. Aqueous, ethanolic and acetone extracts of the plants Emblica officinalis, Eugenia jambolana, Lawsonia alba, Mentha arvensis, Piper Nigrum, Zingiber Officinale, Carica papaya, and the essential oil Syzygium aromaticum oil, and Tea tree oil were tested invitro against 10 pathogenic cultures by the agar cup diffusion method. The pathogens used were Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, and Proteus mirabilis isolated from patients with urinary tract infections, Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi A, Salmonella paratyphi B from patients with gastrointestinal tract infections and Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans from patients with skin infections.
