RECRUITMENT NOTICE : CONSTABLE (DRIVER)-2011
Applications are invited from male Indian citizens who fulfill the following eligibility criterion for filling up the vacancies in the rank of Constable Driver in the pay scale of Rs. 5200-20200 in the grade pay of Rs.2000/- and other allowances admissible to Central Govt. employees from time to time in “Sashastra Seema Bal”. The last date of receipt of application is 30-06-2011. However the closing date for receipt of applications for the candidates from North-Eastern States, Sikkim, Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba, Lahaul & Spiti and Kinnaur Districts of Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh Division, Kashmir of J&K State and the Union Territories of Anadaman and Nicobar islands and the Lakshadweep will be 07-07-2011.

Note :
1. 10% of vacancies in the post are reserved for Ex-Servicemen, which may later be filled up by fresh candidates, if suitable Ex-Servicemen do not turn-up.
2. Number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending upon the position at the time of final selection without any notice.
3. The posts are temporary but likely to be permanent.
4. The recruitment will be conducted on all India basis.
5. Selected candidates are liable to be posted any where within as well as outside the Territory of India according to transfer policy of the force.
Pay Scale :-
Pay Scale :(Pay Band – 1) : Rs.5,200-20,200 + Grade Pay Rs.2,000/- per month.
Eligibility Criteria :- The candidate must fulfill all eligibility conditions on the closing date of receipt of applications i.e. 30-06-2011. However, the crucial date to determine age will be 01-08-2011
Educational qualification :
(i) Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board/university. Educational Certificate other than State Board/ Central Board should be accompanied with Government of India notification declaring that such qualification is equivalent to Matriculation / 10th Class pass for service under Central Government.
(ii) Must possess valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License.
Age :
i) 18 to 28 years ( Cut off date for age will be 1st August,2011)
i) Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST by 5 years and 3 years for OBC.
ii) The upper age relaxation for Government servants is upto 35 Years.
iii) The relaxation in upper age limit of 5 years shall also be admissible to the candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the state of J&K during the period from 1.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.
iv) Five years of age relaxation will also be granted to the children and dependent family members of those killed in the riots (1984 riots and 2002 communal riots of Gujarat).SC/ST/OBC, relaxation, as per Govt. instructions , will be in addition to this relaxation. Children means (a) son (including adopted son); or Dependent family members mean : (a) spouse: or (b) children: or(c) brother in case of unmarried Govt. servant who was wholly dependent on the Govt Servant at the time of his killing in the riots. Children and dependent family members of those killed in the riots (1984 riots and 2002 communal riots of Gujarat) will produce a certificate from the concerned District Collector wherein the victim was killed.
Application Fee :- Application fee will be Rs.50/- ( Non-refundable) for candidates belonging to General and OBC categories. No fee will be charged from SC/ST and Ex-Servicemen. The candidates shall attach the Bank Draft drawn in favour of authority mentioned in column No.4 of Para-07. The candidates can also submit application fee through IPOs to be prepared in favour of authority mentioned in Column No. 5 of table given at Para-7
How to apply :-
Eligible and desirous candidates should send their applications BY POST in the prescribed proforma given in Annexures-I and II with attested passport size photographs duly affixed on application form and admit card at the space provided for the purpose, along with application fee, attested copies of the testimonials as per Para-9. The applications should be typed or neatly hand written. Two self-addressed envelopes of 4 x 9 inch size with Rs.6/- postage stamps duly affixed should also be attached with the application forms. The candidates belonging to different States/UTs should send their application forms to the address as shown at Column No.3 of the table below on or before closing date. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed in block letters as APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE (DRIVER). The incomplete applications and applications received after the last date will not be entertained and will be summarily rejected. SSB will not be responsible for postal delay, if any. No correspondence will be entertained on this account.
The last date of receipt of application is 30-06-2011.
