SENIOR WELDING INSPECTOR JOB’S DESCRIPTION
The Senior Welding Inspector reports directly to the Inspection & NDE Manager of the Company and he performs inspection and NDE activities on behalf of EADS/IS at client’s premises.
1/ Company Profile :
EADS/Institut de Soudure is a JV between EADS and Institut de Soudure to provide to the Qatari market the following services : 1) Inspection, 2) Testing (NDT & DT), 3) Expertise & 4) training.
Institut de Soudure has more than 860 employees, 30 locations in France, 8 international Offices, 11 training centers, 8,000m² of laboratories.
Institut de Soudure has a high level of expertise in many key fields : Material and their in-service behavior, Joining technologies, Non-Destructive testing, Pressure equipment regulations.
In the frame of work of the development of its Inspection activities in Qatar, EADS/Institut de Soudure is looking for a Senior Welding Inspector to perform inspection and supervise NDE activities. In parallel, he has to develop these two activities.

2/ Mission and responsibility :
The Senior Welding Inspector has overall responsibility for the performance of NDE and inspection.
He is responsible for organizational and administrative aspect of the inspection & NDT activities as well as to perform inspection and manage directly the client’s demands.
He has also to conduct commercial actions to develop the inspection and NDE activities of EADS/IS.

3/ Technical Aspects :
- Develop technical solutions and prepare technical qualifications and bid to meet client enquiry.
- Develop and qualify Welding Procedures,
- Set-up & review of NDE procedures : RT, UT, MT, DP.
- Manage Welding Procedure Qualification.
- Manage Welders Qualification.
- Review and Witness Metallurgical & Mechanical testing.
- Review and Witness Chemical analysis, CTOD and corrosion testing
- Define welding bevel and dimensions,
- Coordinate and instruct NDE technicians in accordance with NDE procedures and project schedule.
- Manage Jobs with Clients from Client Request to Invoicing.
- Informs customers of any delay or major deviations in the performance of the inspection or NDT.
- Maintain close liaison with client’s technical representatives regarding Welding and NDE matters.
- Transmits Test reports to customers.
- Set-up of ITP for NDE and welding activities and implementation on site.
- Project Close-out.
- Assist in education of the workforce on welding, NDE and metallurgical problems.
- Weekly and monthly reporting.

4/ Qualification :
Laboratory Technical Manager must have the following qualification :
• Bachelors Degree or Master Degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical engineering.
• EWE / IIW certified or CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector.
• ASNT Lev. 2 certification in the following NDE methods : RT, UT, PT, DP.

5/ Skills and experiences required :
The Senior Welding Inspector must :
• Have extensive experience in welding engineering, in structural – offshore and onshore, piping and pressure vessel fabrications

• Be well conversant with AWS D1.1, ASME IX and ASME B31.3 welding codes.

• Be computer literate, fluency in written English.

• Have extensive experience in weld procedural and WPQR compilation and development.

• Have extensive experience to qualify welders, in Materials and Consumable selection.

• Have extensive experience in implementing NDE procedures : RT, UT, PT and DP.

• Have experience in management of contractors in respect to QA/QC practices, ITP implementation, particularly in relation to welding fabrication and NDE.

• Ability to conduct commercial actions in order to develop the Inspection & NDE activity in Qatar / Client Oriented.

• Ability to supervise a team of inspectors

• Experience
10 to 15 years experiences in similar function is required,
Middle East Experience would be appreciated.
Qatari Driving License

6/ Terms & Conditions
Working days : 6 days/week, 10hours/day,
Salary : according to qualification & experience,
