(a) For Group 'X' (Technical) Trades. Candidate should have passed Intermediate/ 10+2 with pass marks in Mathematics and Physics with a minimum of 50% marks in overall aggregate.
OR
Should have passed a 3 year Diploma course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) with at least 50% marks in overall aggregate from a Govt. recognized Polytechnic Institute.
(b) For Group 'Y' {For Auto Tech, GTI and IAF (P) Trades}. Passed Intermediate/10+2/equivalent examination with Science, Arts or Commerce subjects with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and pass in each subject Or 03 years Diploma in any stream of Engineering from a Government recognised Polytechnic/Institute shall be permitted to appear for Group 'Y' {For Auto Tech, GTI and IAF (P) trades in IAF}.

The Indian Air Force was officially established on 8 October 1932.Its first ac flight came into being on 01 Apr 1933. It possessed a strength of six RAF-trained officers and 19 Havai Sepoys (literally, air soldiers). The aircraft inventory comprised of four Westland Wapiti IIA army co-operation biplanes at Drigh Road as the "A" Flight nucleus of the planned No.1 (Army Co- operation) Squadron.
