Name : implementation and simulation of ieee 802.16 physical layer
The contribution of this work was the implementation of the IEEE 802.16 PHY layer using MAT LAB in order to evaluate the PHYSICAL layer performance under reference channel model. The implemented PHYSICAL layer supports all the modulation and coding schemes as well as CP lengths defined in the specification. On the receiver side, we have assumed perfect channel estimation to avoid the effect of any particular estimation method on the simulation results. The performance evaluation was mainly concentrated on the effect of channel model on the PHYSICAL layer.

Brief Summary –
In this project work we take RHEL-3 as a input operating System which is developed by
Red Hat enterprises. We rebuild its Kernel support packages for adding or removing of
Support packages. We disabled the USB Support and Sound support from RHEL-3 kernel and
added some servers in its kernel ex-Mail server, Squid server, DNS server. We connected our
Newly rebuild kernel to the LAN and that pc becomes our servers for that LAN and other PC which
works with Windows are its client. Our project provides user to chat with in LAN after a valid user
name and password. Server pc monitor each accessing site which is accessed by user on the LAN.
We used Linux platform and shell scripting language in our Project work.
