SUMMARY
My schooling was at St.Joseph’s Convent, a missionary convent school in Chandannagar. After finishing my 10th standard in 2004, I took admission in Rammohan Mission School, Kolkata and completed my 12th there in the year 2006. While in school, I was actively involved in cultural programmes and took part in intra-school and inter-school elocution and speech competitions. Was also a member of the drama club and LTS (leadership training service). Joined the Bharat Scouts & Guides in school and went camping. I gained immensely from school days as my alma mater always gave ample scope for the all round development of a student, apart from academics. My school project even involved interviewing the national award winning film maker, Buddhadeb Dasgupta. After school, I opted for a graduation in English from Bethune College of the University of Calcutta and completed it in 2009.Then I went on to do my masters in Linguistics from the University of Calcutta and am almost on the verge of completing it. Was actively involved in cultural activities and took part in seminars and workshops on translation, careers in media and others in college as well as outside. Having an interest in the field of performing arts, I came in contact with experts in the field and learnt from them. Having attended acting,elocution workshops and certificate courses under the supervision of renowned, television, radio and theatre personalities like Bratati Bandhopadhaya, Jagannath Bose and Ramaprasad Banik, my passion for the field of communications grew immensely. Meanwhile, I completed a course in computer basics and received a certificate from Webel computer training center. Simultaneously, I completed a certificate course in Voice Training and Speech Production with A+ grade in the year 2009 from Jadavpur University. My passion for broadcasting led me to lend my voice to a few advertisements, community radio programmes and documentary films titled “Living Among the Tides” and “He/She/It”. I have currently finished recording modern Bengali poem recitals by Music2000, which is due for release. I may add that I was one of the top five finalists of Facenext’09 organised by ABP Pvt. Ltd. in the television journalist category.
Looking back on my growth path, I would make the following assessments as a self evaluation report :
1. That my exposure affords me networking skills, coupled with the ability to communicate effectively and with clarity.
2. That I am sensitive to cultural sensibilities both local and otherwise.
3. That I am comfortable interacting with a wide array of people.
4. That having had to work with idiosyncratic people, I understand that teamwork and time management are crucial to achieving objectives.
