Telecom sector in India has witnessed an exponential growth in the last few years. The introduction of cutting edge technology has been a key driving factor in the industry. With telecom service providers expanding their operations to cover the length and breadth of our country and entry of new service providers in the industry has resulted in an imbalance in the demand and supply of telecom professional.

Though there are several engineering students graduating every year with specialization in courses focusing on the telecom sector, entry is restricted due to the knowledge gap that exists in the education system. The objective of the training institute is to bridge the knowledge gap that currently exists in the industry, primarily due to the change in technology on a regular basis. We provide an opportunity to enable engineers update themselves through classroom learning as well as hands on experience thus providing a level playing field especially for freshers who look forward to a career in the telecom industry.

The cognitive radio network, a base station controls and supports a set of fixed-location wireless subscribers. The objective is to maximize the throughput of the cognitive network while not affecting the performance of primary users. Both downlink and uplink transmission scenarios in the cognitive network are considered. For both scenarios, we propose two-phase mixed distributed/centralized control algorithms that require minimal cooperation between cognitive and primary devices.
