PROJECT EXECUTED
AIM : “FPGA IMPLEMENTATION OF UP/DOWN CONVERTER FOR WCDMA SYSTEMS”
DISCRIPTION :
In this project, we present FPGA implementation of a digital down convertor (DDC) and digital up convertor (DUC) for a single carrier WCDMA system. The DDC and DUC is complex in nature. The implementation of DDC is simple because it does not require mixers or filters. Xilinx System Generator and Xilinx ISE are used to develop the hardware circuit for the FPGA. Both the circuits are verified on the Virtex-4 FPGA.
Advantages of project :
- Efficiently deals with multipath fading.
- Efficiently deals with channel delay spread.
- Enhanced channel capacity.
- Adaptively modifies modulation density.
My role in project :
- As a team leader i focused on the entire project especially in the development side.
- I especially developed a FIR FILTER which was used in UP CONVERTERS .
- FIR FILTER were used to eliminate unwanted noise and was one of the principle component used.
- A VERILOG code was developed by me for FIR FILTER which could easily eliminate the noise using XLINX 9.2I software version.
