Description : Development & Configuration GRI based HSE Software for Sustainability Development Report.GRI parameter configuration on the application was done after thoroughly reviewing the GRI guidelines and also referring their back references like OECD guidelines, ILO guidelines, GHG protocol, etc. These guidelines have been prepared keeping in view of our various operating units. For the launch of GRI application across units, production server has been installed at the Mumbai corporate office and the basic programming has been done. Then M/s Prospecta, Gurgaon uploaded the GRI application on our server at Mumbai office.

Project#2 SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERISATION OF ZnO NANO PARTICLES

Description : ZnO semiconducting oxide has many applications like gas sensing, catalysis, and cosmetics etc., Our main objective of this project is to synthesize and characterize ZnO nanoparticles. Many physical and chemical methods are available for its synthesis out of which have chosen hydrolysis (chemical method) for its simplicity. Characterization techniques like XRD, TEM, TG-DTA, UV-DRS, etc., were conducted. We mainly concentrated on its gas sensing application because of its excellent sensitivity towards reducing gases like LPG.
Conclusion : Nanocrystalline ZnO has been successfully synthesized by hydrolysis method. The particle size was found to be well within the limits. This method is found to be economical. XRD results have confirmed phase purity. Agglomeration of particles is observed in TEM. So, to get mono dispersed particles, other synthesizing methods have to be adopted. Phase stability up to 800 C has been observed in TG – DTA. So, ZnO produced by the hydrolysis method can be used for high temperature applications.
The sensitivity behaviour studies were carried out with the help of reducing gases like ammonia and LPG. It is found that the sensitivity towards these gases is excellent.

Description : Spheroidal graphite iron, also referred to an ductile iron, nodular cast iron, is essentially cast iron in which graphite is present in the form of tiny nodules or spheroids rather than flakes as in normal gray iron or compacted aggregates as in malleable iron. The INCO process employs magnesium addition to either hypo or hypereutectic cast irons. After initial exposure to this process the industry soon realized the greater potential and economy of the Mg. process which is now almost universally practiced.
Magnesium Treatment Methods:
There are several methods like Open ladle transfer method, Pressure ladle and pressure chamber methods, Injection method, Magnesium wire method, Magnesium impregnated coke method, Sandwich method, Plunging method, False or detachable bottom ladle method, Mold treatment process and Tiltable reactor etc.
