MAMMALIAN CELL CULTURE – PRODUCTION MANAGER / SR. MANAGER

This person will be responsible for developing, coordinating and scaling –up mammalian cell culture related processes for the production of recombinant therapeutic proteins and / or monoclonal antibodies in a GMP facility.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
M.Sc /M.Tech in any area of Biological Sciences / Process Engineering with 8 – 10 years of experience in the area of mammalian cell culture production in companies engaged in production of vaccines or other therapeutics from mammalian cell cultures.

EXPERIENCE
A thorough knowledge of GMP, a good awareness of aseptic handling techniques for running bioreactors and experience in conducting scale-up of processes for mammalian cell culture batches that are transferred from R&D scale, are essential. Hands-on experience in running bioreactors at 500L scale or higher for biologicals in a GMP facility is an essential pre-requisite. Experience of having managed cell culture teams and an exposure to regulatory requirements for mammalian cell culture based production activities is desirable.

Title : “Isolation, screening of Streptomyces species for the production & Purification of Glucose isomerase ”
Description : Streptomyces species
Screening and isolation of glucose isomerase (GI) producing bacteria were carried out from corn field soil collected from the Parbhani region. Different isolates was found to be grown on salt starch agar medium at 35 - of which only sreptomyces like colony. Characteristics showing colony was taken and found to be producer of intracellular glucose isomerase on synthetic medium at pH 6.5 containing xylose and along with salt solutions. The optimum conditions for production were 1.5% initial xylose concentration, 1% peptone, 2% Inoculum, pH 6.5, Temperature 35- and shaken culture condition. The glucose isomerase was isolated by cell disruption, centrifugation and then it was purified by ammonium sulphate precipitation. The enzyme activity was assayed. The results shows that sreptomyces species was good producers of glucose isomerase.

PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF GENISTEIN AND RESVERATROL ON DOXORUBICIN INDUCED CARDIOTOXICITY IN MALE ALBINO RATS
Doxorubicin(adriamycin) is an anthracycline antibiotic that exerts its effect by intercalation between the bases of DNA and inhibit the activity of topoisomerase2.It leads to breaks in the genomic DNA. Doxorubicin is a potent broad spectrum chemotherapeutic agent that is highly effective in treating patients with leukemia’s lymphomas and many solid tumors. The clinical utility of doxorubicin antineoplastic drugs is limited by the risk of cardiotoxicity. Recently a lot of research is going on with a need for eliminating the cardiotoxic effect of this drug by using natural products such as Phytoestrogen mainly belongs to the phenolic compounds known as Flavonoids. Reservatol,and Genistein are the most studied phtoestrogens. Genistein is found to show both anticancer effect and antioxidant effects.Hence present study made an attempt to study the protective effects of Genestein and resveratrol on Doxorubicin induced cardiotoxicity.
