Academic Background and Key Experience Requirements :
• M. Pharm (preferably Ph.D or Post Doc) in Pharmaceutics
• 10-15 years of experience in Parentral Formulation Development, preferably worked on varied delivery systems & technology

Roles and Responsibilities :
• Provide technical inputs for product selection on technical complexity in the parentral product development, hence support product & portfolio selection
• Support the Strategy team in designing of strategy for development of Parentral Formulations by defining target, product profile (from cost, quality manufacturing point of view)
• Getting the SDN (Strategy Development Note) approved by stakeholders & assuring a robust strategy note in place
• Providing support to PDTs in formulation development to resolve technical issues related to complexities arising from formulation perspective
• Play a pivotal role in helping crack complex technical challenges and hence support the PDTs meet due date performance and achieve desired value of filings
• Assist RA in addressing deficiencies or regulatory queries by providing support w.r.t receiving, analyzing & resolving the formulations related queries / deficiencies
• Assist in troubleshooting at commercial stage along with the Launch Preparation team by helping resolve the formulation related technical issues during commercialization phase
• Bring in new technologies & advances in Parentral formulations by attending seminars, conferences & external networking with leading academicians
• Knowledge transfer to the domain members and contributing towards continuous learning of self & team members

Title : Design, development and evaluation of Mouth Dissolving Tablet of Carvedilol.

Need & Obectives of work :
1) To improve the solubility and dissolution rate of Carvedilol by preparing its Solid Dispersion with PEG 6000 (Kneading method).
2) To enhance oral bioavailability of Carvedilol.
3) To design suitable dosage form of drug to avoid its extensive first pass metabolism.
4) To compare the dissolution profile of formulated Mouth dissolving tablet with marketed formulation.
Carvedilol is selected as model candidate because of following properties :
1) It is a BCS class II drug.
2) Are practically insoluble in water.
3) Having extensive first pass metabolism-80%
4) Oral bioavailability-25-35 %.
5) Protein binding- 95-98%
