DNB Residency
1. For Primary 3 years Course, candidate should have passed DNB-CET, conducted by DNB Board, New Delhi.
2. For Secondary 2 years Course, candidate should have passed MBBS with DCP from the University recognized by MCI (Medical Council of India).
The fee structure and other regulations are as per the DNB Guidelines.

I working as a senior registrar in Critical care medicine since august 2010. Our ICU is a mixture of trauma, neurosurgery, medical and surgical patients.
During my night calls I was in charge of ICU, it was challenging and demanding, where I was alone responsible for making critical decisions regarding patient management (airway, antibiotics, invasive procedures and monitoring), supervising the junior doctors posted under my care and dealing with medico-legal cases. I have independently diagnosed and managed most of the emergencies including medical, surgical, cardiac and polytrauma. I was a member of infection control team to educate paramedical staffs in controlling ICU and hospital infections.

It is a structured training programme in anesthesiology which has given me adequate exposure to Anesthesiology practice and skills. It is a 3 years training programme which includes specialty training in critical care, cardiac anesthesia and neuroanaesthesia.
Sundaram Medical Foundation is a community based multispecialty teaching hospital providing tertiary care in all specialties of medicine and surgery except cardiac surgery. It has a fully equipped critical care unit which is recognized for fellowship courses by National Board.
During my tenure I acquired skills in both regional and general anesthesia techniques. I am in charge of pre-anaesthetic clinic during my third year of training. I am under supervision during most of my training programme except for the last few months where in I am being allowed to practice independently with trainees under my care. I underwent BLS & ACLS courses. I actively involved in the academic activities of the department including conducting morbidity and mortality meeting, CME programmes and teaching paramedical staffs. I also learnt skills for the management of difficult airways. I involved myself in acute pain management services of the hospital including labor analgesia.
