Accel was born in Chennai, India, in March 1991. Five engineers from the computer industry with extensive and varied expertise joined together to create a premier IT organization dedicated to providing world class products and services. Their commitment and focus has led to the blossoming of Accel as a full-fledged IT company providing solutions in systems integration, networking, customized software development, facilities management and technology services. The company has a strong team of 1200 professionals operating in India, the Far East, the Middle East and USA in the hardware, software and consulting streams.
Recognizing the increasing need for qualified IT professionals in the country, Accel set up Accel School of Computer Technology. The school was later renamed Accel IT Academy and is a division of Accel Transmatic Limited.

Accel IT Academy offers its students the services of its non-commercial placement cell, which taps job opportunities with leading companies. The centralized placement cell at Chennai maintains a real time cache of information on prospective employers and matches their requirement from its data bank of students, categorized according to their skill sets and merits. Many students have been absorbed by Accel Group's own divisions including the Customer Support Division, Systems Engineering Services, Test and Repair services, Office Automation, Networking and the Software Division.
Accel IT Academy's placement cell also prepares the students who have completed the program, with hand-on practical training through an Industrial Training module. Another important value-add the Academy provides is the Personality Development Program, which all students are put through. This program has been designed to develop their communication skills and overall personality with a special emphasis on succeeding in interviews.



The placement cell further helps students to keep abreast of the developments, by offering them:

1. Periodic technical seminars/workshops conducted by eminent HR and Technical experts at Accel's centers and other colleges.
