Objective

The technical knowledge provided in the course on different aspects of the system will help the participant in understanding the functioning of the system. This will further help in providing the necessary expertise required by the industry.
Eligibility
B.E. / B.Tech in Electronics, Computer Science, Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering discipline with a minimum of 60% aggregate. Final year students with good Academic track record can also apply.

Overview
Over the past few years the information technology industry has seen a sea change in its attitudes and the types of products it sells. There was a time when eager buyers snapped up anything and everything that claimed to be high-tech, without much regard to its functionality or usefulness. However, with the technology crash and the subsequent awakening, consumers have become more watchful and less willing to believe the claims of the techno evangelists. As a result, the focus in all areas of the industry is shifting from a search for 'the next high-tech gizmo' to a search for 'the product that will make a difference in people's lives'. This has lead to development in the newer fields of it, such as embedded systems. The embedded technology sector is currently amongst the fastest growing sectors within it’s segment and is likely to remain so for a long time to come. As a consequence, there is an increasing demand in this field for professionals who can deliver on the challenging requirements in this field.
Embedded system is an exciting and competitive discipline. This technology focuses on the boundary between hardware and software and explores the levels of hardware software in the vicinity of this boundary. An enthusiast in this field should realize this boundary as the central to this discipline, it is where compilation in software ends and interpretation in hardware begins.
Objective
So What Does it take to Become an Embedded Engineer?
It is obvious that such an engineer would need to have intimate knowledge of the innards of the digital domain. Even if he is aimed to become an embedded systems programmer, He would need to have much greater familiarity with the hardware subsystem than any applications programmer could hope to have. He would also need to have a close familiarity with the tools that he uses to generate code. This course will enable an engineer to continue the lifetime of learning necessary for staying at the forefront of this competitive discipline.

BLIND NAVIGATION SYSTEM USING RFID FOR INDOOR ENVIRONMENT
ABOUT PROJECT :
A location and tracking system becomes very important to our future world in pervasive computing, where information is all around us. Location is one of the most needed information for emerging and future applications.
Since the public use of GPS satellite is allowed, several state-of-art devices become part of our life, e.g. : a car navigator and a mobile phone with a built-in GPS receiver. However, location information for indoor environments is still very limited several techniques are proposed to get location information in buildings such as using a radio signal triangulation, a radio signal emitter or signal finger printing. Using radio frequency identification (RFID) tags is a new way of giving location information to users.
The tag stores location information and gives it to any reader that is within the proximity range which can be up to 10-15 meters for UHF RFID systems. We propose an RFID based system for navigation in a building for blind people or visually impaired. The system relies on the location information on the tag, a user destination, and a routing server where the shortest route from the user’s current location to the destination. The navigation device communicates with the routing server using GSM networks. we build a prototype based on our design and show some results.

ACADAMIC PROJECT DETAILS :
1. Fault secure encoder and decoder for nano memory application in Mtech :
Traditionally memory cells were the only circuitry susceptible to transient faults.The supporting circuitries
around the memory were assumed to be fault free. Due to the increase in soft error rate logic circuits
encoder and decoder circuitry around the memory block have become susceptible to soft errors as well and
must be protected .
The key novel development is the fault free se cure detector (FSD) error correcting code (ECC) definition
and associated circuitry that can detect errors in the received encoded vector despite experiencing multiple
transient faults in it circuitry .we prove that known classes of low density parity chec k codes have the FSD
property and further we quantify the importance of protecting encoder and decoder circuitry.
2. Multi-tier car parking in automated system in B.E :
Rapid growth of automobile industry wher we find millions of people buying new automobile everyday & time requirment of large number of parking areas in public places has given rise to Multi-tier car parks.
This project has been developed to provide the security for the corporate. It maintains the database of
the employee so that only the authorized entries are allowed ,if the card is faked it won’t open the door for
the fake entry.
COMPANY PROJECT : TCP/IP based wireless error prone network.
Currently working on TCP/IP based wireless network. : Working on NETWORK SIMULATOR 2(ns2) ,which is an open source networking tool. Writing codes in TCL scripting language. Analyzing better topologies to minimize packet losing. Also searching possibilities to make GUI( ns2) more appealing by working on its c,c++ codes .It mainly works on unix based sytem.
About project :
We are using network simulator 2(ns2) which is used to create scenarios. It is an open source.It is built in c++ and provides interface through otcl, an object-orinted dialect of tcl.
We are using ns-2 on Linux red hat.(RHEL 5)
Worked on tcl (tool command language) scripting as it is supported by ns2.
Written codes which describes different type of networking topologies
Used predefined object in ns2 by tcl scripting such tcp, udp and ftp agents in my codes.
We have used TCP/IP agents in our tcl scripting.
In this project we are mainly concerned about using tcp, udp , ftp as per our project requirement.
Worked on different types of tcp's(tcp/reno,tcp/vegas/, tcp/sack1,/ tcp/fack.
Routing protocols. We have used ad-hoc routing protocols such as AODV and DSDV.
Role : Team lead.
Responsibilities :

Software configuration and maintenance.
Planning and implementation of required topologies with team mates.
