PROFFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- EXPERIENCE IN POWER PLANT ( 1978-1991)
- Operation and maintenance of 62.5 MW Power Station at Bhusawal, Maharashtra. The Boiler supplied by Rafuka Rasiborska, Poland and Turbine Generator by Siemens (KWU).Worked as Boiler In-charge, turbine in-charge and plant In-charge in the operation of Boiler, turbine , Ash Plant ,CHP etc.
- Important activity : Designed and modified the complete HP and LP drainage system of Boiler and Turbine.
- Foreign Assignment : Commissioning & Operation of 4x120 MW Thermal Power Station at Hawanke, Zimbabwe. Boiler by ICAL, South Africa, Turbine Generator by Alsthom /MAN , France/Germany. I was on deputation through WAPCOS, GoI for a period of three years. Worked along with the Engineers of BEI ( British Electric International), England. The BEI Management promoted me to next higher post . Associated with M/s ICAL in commissioning and operated the Boiler for 3 years.
o Important activity: Modified the baffle arrangement for distribution of air system to the Boiler for proper combustion.
- Commissioning, Operation & Maintenance of 4x210 MW Thermal Power Station at Chandrapur, Maharashtra. Boiler & Turbine supplied by BHEL, India. I associated with BHEL in the commissioning of one of the units and operated the Power Station as Plant in-charge for 5 years.

- Planning & implementing the preventive, predictive & systematic maintenance schedules for improving the overall reliability and safety of electrical equipments, personnel and Power Generation processes.

- Construction & Commissioning of 2x120 MW Waste Heat Recovery Power Project at Uran , Maharashtra. ( Conversion of 4x108 Open cycle Gas Turbine Power Station in to CCPP ). This was a Turn key Project awarded to Siemens with consortium partners Babcock for WHRB, GEA for Air cooled Condenser , Mannesmann for Piping and WTP . The other various Auxiliary Systems were awarded to various Indian companies.
- From Maharashtra State Electricity Board, carried out the supervision for the Mechanical part of the Fabrication, Erection, Inspection and Commissioning of Boiler, Turbine , Piping , Rotating machineries and other Auxiliary Plants such as Fire Fighting, HVAC, Compressors ,Cooling water system etc.

The important activities involved are:

o Anchoring on-site erection & commissioning activities and ensuring completion of project within the time & cost parameters and effective resource utilisation to maximise the output.
o Installation and commissioning of the heavy equipments as well as conducting tests & inspections to ensure operational effectiveness of Power plant & utilities.
o Developing construction and commissioning protocol documents, provided as built drawings and foot print data to owner.
o Erection of Waste Heat Recovery Boiler including Structure ,

GREENFIELD PROJECTS
- Handled the planning and predevelopment activities of Thermal Power Projects at various sites in Maharashtra to be developed through Tariff based competitive Bidding Process under case-2 Guidelines issued by the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The work involves selection of site, acquiring land through LA Act, Coal linkage , identifying and finalizing water requirement and arrangement for getting various clearances and inputs, conducting the competitive bidding process , Preparing the PPA, etc. attending MERC hearings for clarifications and deviation in RFQ, RFP etc and preparing reply to queries of RFQ and RFP raised by bidders in the competitive bidding .
- Preparation of Power Purchase Agreements for the existing Power Stations and ongoing projects of Mahagenco totaling about 15,000 MW. I was independently handling the preparation of the different PPAs for the entire capacity of Mahagenco.
- Handling the Regulatory Matters in connection with the preparation of PPAs and in the predevelopment activity for the case-2 projects under competitive bidding process.
- All correspondence for attaining Mega Power Status for the proposed 4 projects of Mahagenco having capacity of 1000MW and above.
