The INDIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES conducted a two day workshop addressed by eminent delegates of prominent institutes on the emergence and applications of the sciences. The lectures were diversified from metagenomics to statistical applications of molecular biology to the genomics of gene silencing techniques. There was also a special lecture on the resistance of microbes to many diseases and steps to tackle them.

Bio Mimicry 2009 :
I had the opportunity to demonstrate the concepts involved in BIOMIMICRY at BIOVISION event held at our university. BIOMIMICRY is the phenomenon where the developments involved in science and technology were a adaption of the nature’s principles and concepts. An example that can be provided is the idea, principle and concept of close circuited cameras and other split image magnifying cameras used especially in defence was taken and utilized from the fact that many insects like drosophila have the compound eye structure.
