Description :
DWDM is telecom backbone equipment it multiplexes up to 32channel optical wavelengths, each carrying a data rate of 2.5Gbps and transmits at the speed of 80Gbps on a single fiber up to a maximum distance of 640km.The status and performance of all the terminals along the link has to be monitored from a single network management station. OADM are used to drop or add channels in between terminals, maximum distance of OADMs 80km 7OADMs required between terminals.
In This two different Cards, Gbe Gigabit Ethernet Card & SDH/SONET Card Gigabit Ethernet card takes both Gigabit Ethernet (1.25Gbps) and STM-4(622 Mbps) or a combination of both. The Gigabit Ethernet card is being mapped on to the STM-16 client through (acc.G.7041). MPC850 processor on board monitors the functioning of the various sub-blocks for alarm conditions. This card communicates with the system Control Card through RS-485 protocol

Most telecommunications equipment is remotely managed from a distant computer. However, site technicians (called craft personnel in Telco-speak) need to access the equipment to test installation changes, check the status of reported faults, and so on. The terminal used by the craft personnel is called the craft terminal. The craft terminal plugs into the craft interface on the equipment.
