Working as a New product design and development engineer in Starter motor department of Lucas TVS R&D since 08-10-2007
Lucas TVS., Chennai is an ISO-TS certified, Deming and ACMA awarded company and leaders in manufacturing of auto electrical and ancillaries in India.
PROJECTS HANDLED IN LUCAS TVS :
- Currently designing Permanent magnet platform starter motor for Greaves Three wheeler and Honda small car.
- Designed new platform product of starter motors using twin turn armatures for Hyundai Kappa engine, Maruthi KB series engine & CumminsOnan USA genset application.
- Designed and developed VA-VE starter motor for Greaves genset application and Piaggio three wheeler.
- Designed and implemented smaller switch concept in Maruthi’s new cost down Alto vehicle.
- Through VA-VE concepts reduced overall cost of the existing running products.
- Re-Designed and developed Starter motor for Arctic Cat,USA (Snow mobile vehicle)
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Gathering customer requirements and feed back for the projects.
- Creating preliminary concept layout(either from the scratch or from platform product design concept) based upon Customer requirements
- Design using PRO-E & AutoCAD tools and development of RP route proto components for New product and also developing corresponding necessary tool drawings & components.
- Generating and updating DFMEA for New as well as existing products
- Using analysis software(ANSYS) verifying components for its robustness and optimizing design further for better FOS.
- Responsible for designing, releasing and modifying prototype drawings and followed by detailed production drawings.
- Responsible for uploading and controlling drawings through PLM servers (Windchill)
- Analyzing and solving failure modes in CLR, field warranty and validated new product samples.
- Releasing Design standards for drawings based on prototype validation results.
- Conducting meetings with supplier for developing tooled-up parts for production and visiting supplier ends for component audit and approval.
- Benchmarking competitor products for technology and cost analysis..
- Involving in initial cost estimation of the product in NPD.
