    Description : The main object of this work is to compare the performance of manifold and direct gas injected dual fuel engine in terms of performance combustion and emission characteristics .The effect of EGR,injection timing on the performance of duel fuel will be determined for both the modes of gas intake. For this test facilities will be installed for facilitating manifold gas induction as well as direct gas injection to the engine. Suitable modifications will be done in the existing single cylinder 4-stroke diesel engine to facilitate above engine operation in duel fuel mode.
    The main source of combustion initiation for the duel fuel mode of engine operation is provided by injecting a small quantity of biodiesel like HOME
